So I happened to bring my camera to work yesterday, by a fluke. About mid-day, I spot this Charger in the parking lot & snagged my camera. ;D

Funky friggin' marker lights...I'm thinkin' some out of use trailer donated those. :icon_smile_tongue:

The front end had badly worn control arm bushings, I bet it's a groove-grabbing sob. :o

Looks like it's been topless for a while, by the looks of the interior.

The back seat bottom was gone & there were scraps of wood on the floor in it's place. Overall, the interior was pretty beat up & the cracked steering wheel looked like it was from a truck. (sorry, I took this shot quickly & didn't get the wheel :-\ )
There was a Charger SE emblem above the glove box.

After quickly snapping those pics, I went back inside to show one of my co-workers the car...by the time I returned, the car was gone.
At least I got the pics, to prove my fish story. :D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

PocketThunder

looks like they did a nice job with the snap on cover.

:iagree: Looks like the seats were probably nice looking when it was originally done, too. I'm betting it was someone's nice driver for a while, then it was sold to someone who didn't garage it & care about it as much.
I think that overall, these cars look halfway decent as a convertible, whereas 2nd gen's don't.

My guess is somebody had a vinyl top car that needed a new roof skin after 30 years of rot and they did the next best thing.

 :o...you gotta be kiddin'!

I have always wondered how a 3rd gen Charger would look as a convertible. why are the windows up? that looks pretty retarded. :ahum:

Typical of all Mopar people.  They start a project, sometimes with decent thoughts/ideas   and never finish it to the end.  And it looks like crap, if you are going to start a project, or do a car, FUCKING DO IT AND FINISH IT!!!

If the concept is ever well executed, I think it could be an attractive car. The high beltline of the 3rd gen looks natural as a vert. where as the 2nd gens low, tapered down profile doesn't work without a roof.

The profile of a 3rd gen is one big wedge, which works nicely even without the roof. I wouldn't cut up a 3rd gen to make one, but I'd save this car and finish it right if I got hold of it.

When you see a convertible with the top down and the widows up it kinda defeats the purpose....plus it looks stupid. :Twocents:

I think the windows are up so no one will steal it.

You apparently never drove in a convertible with a woman, have you?

As far as the car.  I happen to think it looks good.  I'm not a big fan of the third gen, but tell me where in the hell it says that in ordewr to drive the car it has to be in pristine condition???????  The guy probably doesn't have a bottomless check book like some of you guys.  The bottom line is it is his car, or her car, and it probably gives them alot of joy.  There probably is a history behind it too.

It's not just that. When I park my ragtop, I almost always put the windows up. It does make it much harder to reach over and take something out of the car etc.

So ALL Mopar people never finish a project? Wish I'd known that earlier. I guess I should just quit now since it's destiny and all  ::)

I think it would be a disaster in a rollover accident.. :yesnod:
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

Your right I haven't. I got a convertible though. I never drove it. It's on the restore list after the Charger.

I like it & would drive it just as it sits.

The only thing I hope for it, was that someone put subframe connectors in so it doesn't sag.
