I know it's so 70's but, did anyone ever try installing side pipes on a 3rd generation?

Theres more of this car on cardomain.com, I just saw it the other day but this was the only pic of it I grabbed.

Bob

Actually, it does not look bad.

My brother-in-law had side pipes on his 57 Chevy and it ruined the paint near the area from the heat.

I went over to CD and left a message for him about where he got them. They would have to be long ones in order to look nice. I have the wide rocker chrome on mine so I think it deflect some of the heat away. On my 75 Vette I had no problem with the heat on the paint, just on the back of my wifes leg when she get out. I'm saying I'm going to do it but I think they look nice. IMO.

I had a set of sidepipes on my 72 SE back in the day....I recently spent a shitload of money on a set of NOS sidepipes just like I used to have...going to put them on one of my 72 projects. I like 'em... :2thumbs:

If you decide to go for it let me know where you are going to get it, because I really want to put one on my '70

I am in getting ready to swap mine for a tti setup. If you like to hear and feel you exhaust they are the way to go. :2thumbs: On the other hand if you do a lot of stop and go in town cruising you will also get to breath your exhaust   :eek2:

Hey 68 flame, did you just buy that car recently?  I like it.  The pic of your car is in a thread I posted a few months ago

Hey 70charger boy I purchased my car from a guy on epay 4 years ago after about a year of looking for one that said buy me. Jumped on it with buy it now taking the guy at his word that it was "in perfect running condition". Needless to say have been throwing vast sums of money at her ever since. I have had the motor out work on it the grill, engine bay, rear end, and trunk pan to name a few things for the last year or so hope to have it back on the road by the end of the year. On a side note dig your Hoff banner you should check out the ceterfold in this months Garage magazine I think you might like it.

I think all Chargers are money pits.  My car was suppose to be on the road in May, but I found 10 things wrong that cost alot of money.  No big deal.  Good luck with the charger and welcome to the site
