I have a 69 charger SE 383 tripple green automatic on the column, I have both build sheets and the original bill of sale, would you clone it or restore it?  :shruggy:

70charginglizard

With it being an SE I'd probably vote to restore as original but that wouldn't stop me from putting a 4 BBL intake and carb on it though for some extra umph.

I am in the same dilemma. Clone my Satellite into a RR or keep as original.? :scratchchin:

Personally, I am not a big fan of clone cars. Kinda takes the fun out of seeing the actual thing ;)

I fond just as much enjoyment talking to people with their Coronet as I do with the Road Runners, my vote is to NOT clone the Coronet, as for the Charger, if it was a small block car I would say yes, but with it being an SE with a 383, I say restore it, and I agree on the 4 barrel.

Same here. If I had a 318 car I'd probably clone it but but why mess with a big block car? I think you'd have more fun keeping it original, but that's just my :Twocents:

Ghoste

Another vote here for keeping it original.

Build it the way you  want to.....mine started out the same way and was identical to yours. The previous owner had allready painted it black and i'm just stepping it up a notch.  :icon_smile_big:

1st pic is the new paint job.....vynil roof still to be installed. New Black interior going in as well.  :2thumbs:

2nd pic is the way i got it.....colomn shift, a/c firewall, green interior......all gone !

I agreee with Ron. Build it the way you want it. I have a numbers matching 69 Charger that was a 383 2 barrel. I am changing the color and putting a 4 barrel on it, but other than that, it will be back to original. But my 70 is a R/T clone car because that is what my brother and I decided to do with that car. Do what you want, have fun, and show some pics :2thumbs:

Build it how you would like it.  :icon_smile_cool: I also build how I would like it. I switched from column to floor shift, Dumped the engine, tranny rear rims interior etc. for what I wanted.  It is still the original color.

Well, I am just so anxious to get my hands on one, but when I do...

With what you have, I would start by making sure it was restored first, depending on what it needs...

I would then go with the 4bbl, and store the original setup. Popular choice, but I like it...

Then see what you think...just drive it and enjoy it, and it will come to you.

These are such great cars, and as this forum proves, they can do anything you want them to do...

if you're gonna clone it, why don't you put some numbers and a flag on it and paint it a nice shade of orange??? :icon_smile_big:  (ducks)

It would be an interesting car to keep original, but if its not just the way you want it, then change it.

Life's to short! build the car you would have order new. You'll have more fun!

Cloning is so last century. Just make it nice. A Charger doesn't need an R/T or a Hemi badge to be nice.

69bronzeT5

I gotta agree with everybody who says make it the way YOU want it to be.

Build the car you want...  in the end, you're the one that is going to drive and enjoy it.

Our 68 was originally a 318 car but we're adding the 440 and 727 as well as fron discs and a few other things (17-18" rims) while maintaining a semi-stock look and many stock components... you only live once, so do it your way  :icon_smile_cool:

This Charger right here is a one of none, that means none before it, none to come.

TUFCAT

First of all, I love the triple green....and since I've gone on record as saying this before - - I'll say it again........Green Mopars are very cool.  :coolgleamA: :coolgleamA: :coolgleamA:

Now, if it was mine, and got the itch to change this car into and R/T...I would go ahead and do it.  Since its already a big block, I'd get a nice 440, and restore the car leaving all the color codes the same. You would have a very sweet R/T-SE clone out of it..... (with the tape stripe added I hope  :2thumbs: ).

I don't think anybody will kick you in the balls for doing that. But changing exterior/Interior colors is a whole nutha matter!!, :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

If you want a real R/T - - go out and buy it....and sell the triple green one to me!   :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

70charger_boy

With all the RT's out there why don't you make a 318 clone?????????????????????????????

chargerboy69

Do it how you want to. I cloned mine. I do not try to pass it off as a real R/T, but it looks like I want it to. And thats all that matters.

Good luck.
