Red drums and road wheels

Just  wondering how many people have red drums and road wheels and/or do you like this look?  It doesn't much matter because I've already done it but I'm sitting here waiting for the paint to dry before I put them on there.

I did mine buuut technically that bulliten came out 8-15-69 so it would be correct for 70 models & newer...

I think it looks good  -  but I went and had my rear drums powdercoated gloss black.

My 69 was built 9/18/1968, and it came with road wheels and red drums.  I know they were red because my dad bought the car new, here is a pic from '72.

The only reason why I did not paint mine red was because my car has the factory front disc brakes which I think would make the car look weird with having cast iron color in the front with red in the rears.

That is me in the matching outfit!!  The drums came painted red from the factory.....my car is a disc brake car as well.  My dad said he thought the red drums looked "tacky", but they grew on him with time.

I would almost be willing to bet the drums were painted when the mags were added, a very common modification of the day.  Sweet mags by the way.

Fact is, the drums rusted very quickly, even with the red paint. Those look pretty fresh on a 3 year old car.

The whole drum was not painted. The factory did it by just slopping it on with a brush.

I just did mine this weekend, even though it's barely visible with my Rallyes.

The drums are still red now-43,823 miles, last driven in 1977.  Never seen bad weather.  It had 25,000 miles at the time of the pics.
