When I was a struggeling rocker at G.I.T in L.A. back in '80, everyone thought Eddie Van the Man was "the greatest guitarist of all time", everyone wanted me to play the eruption solo all the time... "can you play like eddie?!" they'd breathlessly ask over and over... And I was trying to do my own thing...  noones ever gonna say I'm the best and I'm ok with that,..

Yes, that is a great kick ass solo.

Way back in 1994 I got my first guitar.  It was a Peavey predator (Strat copy) and I had a marshall jcm 800 50 watt half stack.  I learned to play some of the easy Jimi stuff and that was cool. 

One day this really hot girl moved in next door, so I put my woodstock cd in the player, turned on my amp and hooked up my guitar skipped to the woodstock improv solo and held my guitar up to the stereo speakers.  Everyone in my neighborhood thought that I was playing.  Boy, I miss those halcyon days of youth.
Oh, the chick couldn't care less.  I think she was deaf

I saw Queen+ Paul Rodgers in Vancouver on April 13/06...that was a freaking awesome show!!!! Brian's solo was amazing and then when he did "Last Harizon" it was incredible.

the royal albert hall concert in '68 had Traffic's Dave Mason backing Jimi on rythem guitar and hendrix did a couple songs and Jams never again recorded and plus, his tribute to eric clapton...
  (not mentioned on this thread BTW:    )
"Sunshine of your Love", which was actually written by Eric as a tribute to Jimi... Though it's debateable Jimi was aware of this at that time...

I know but Paul did a hell of a good job. Not as good as Freddie but personally, I dont think anybody could've filled Freddie's shoes as good as Paul did.

ok brock heres the story behind sunshine of your love told by Pete townsend through my memory

It was 1967 and Pete heard stories of this black guy with an afro and funky clothes playing guitar with his teeth and behind his back.  He was intriqued so he went to see Jimi play and was blown away.  He went home and immediately called Eric Clapton.  They met and he told Clapton that their careers as guitarist's are over, because this guy named Jimi is unbelievable.  They both went to see Jimi and a few months later Clapton wrote Sunshine of your love.  The funny thing about this story is Jimi heard the song and before the creams album was released Jimi was playing sunshine of your love at his shows.

They're American Racing Torq Thrust M Wheels, 22". The only other "mod" ive done to it so far is having all my audio stuff from the Monte Carlo installed. In the more immediate future (possibly in the next few weeks, if the $ is there), I'm gonna have it lowered via Eibach Sportline springs, install foglights, and possibly some non-blingy grill inserts. After that, it's either gonna be a two tone paint job or some rally stripes - depending on how expensive the paint job is. Even further into the future, I'm shooting for a double-din In-Dash DVD/CD/Satellite/Navigation unit - maybe a Pioneer Avic-Z or an Alpine W200. Yep...I've been hanging out with the LX guys way too much 

I love the CHARGER...its roomy, gets great gas mileage, and most people don't know or don't care to know that it's only a v6. In fact, some random dude I met at a bar the other night said that we should hang out cuz with my car it was "Immmmpossible NOT to get p***y".

But, that said he was a huge influence on me but that was back in the .60s and '70s. he has some really good albums, WELCOME is on my top ten list,.. but it's not because of his playing,.. but because of everyone else's playing...

I've never been a big fan of 'rock' bands that have the whole Latin rythm section thing going on. If I want to listen to bongos and cowbells, I'll bust out some Perez Prado or Cachao tunes and hear it done right.

when i comes to latin music 'm partial to Cuba Salsa and brazilian steel drum bands, especially the contests from Carnival...

I saw it and first thing I thought was it was a gibson.  The pickups look they they are from the 60's or 70's.  I'm not sure about the headstock logo though.  I'm gonna have some real fun rebuilding it

No idea...other than the obvious - that it's an incomplete Les Paul Custom copy...with a badly botched single coil neck pick up. Good find tho...is the neck fairly straight? If you put a hundred bucks or two into it (to find a new bridge, tuners, new pick ups), you'll have a pretty nice axe.
