I thought that he was going to keep us posted on what he did with the R/T ?  :shruggy:
I was thinking that DC.COM members would have 1st dibs on that Charger. :scratchchin:

I think a few contacted him but he wanted around 10 so I guess nobody bit. In the early part of this post he said the engine was in the basement. I guess he stuck it in there now. It's not like it's not gonna be pulled out again though. He said it was found in a field in the auction. Actually it was in a guys yard I thought? I wouldn't have mentioned the a field though. :-\

I must be raising my 13 year old son right. He was working with my Dad today and spotted this 71 Charger R/T!! My dad stopped and asked the guy about the car and HE WANTS TO SELL!! :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

I just got back from talking to him and we worked out a price so hopefully I'll pick it up next week.

The highs:
Great options, Ram Charger hood, concealed headlights w/ wipers, non air 440 (numbers matching but not in the car), auto on the floor with tach in the dash.

The Lows:
RUST all over. Hood is rusting through on the front, floors, bottom edge of doors, etc.

After I buy the car I will decide what to do with it and keep all of you posted.

nice start them off right

I don`t see the need for the negativity and flipper comments. Quite obviously Dewey sold the car at some point and it is now being re-sold by a dealer in South Carolina.

Stevie Wonder could see that he did give DC members first dibs. Apparently no one here stepped up to the plate and bought the car.

:fu: :fu:

Maybe in the begining he mentioned something.Plus I bet he sold it cheapier to whom is selling it on E-Bay.
Did he say anything before he sold it? Last I heard he was going to molest that R/T and sell the parts.  :scratchchin:
I smell a flipper.  :RantExplode:

The guy said from the start he was selling the car, So whats the big deal? I felt 8k was a verry good price for the car and 10k wasn't bad, but I wouldn't pay that.  The man is obviously a mopar guy, so I don't see any problem picking up a good buy selling it for a profit to improve your other cars. :Twocents:

Ditto.  I thought that was the point of the thread.  He could have just posted it on ebay without saying anything.

If some of you wanted the car - did you make an offer?  Okay then...there you go....

I know him - he's not a 'flipper'.  He was selling the car to help fund the restoration of his other '71 R/T.  I would have done the same. :Twocents:

What's all the crying about?  :'( :'( :'(  Say you get a killer deal on a car and you don't have plans on selling it.....but all of a sudden another comes around and you like it better. Your not rich and don't have a Morton bldg. to keep them all in so you have to sell one.............then your a flipper with out trying to be....WHAAAAAAAAAA. I flipped two in the last month. I paid what they wanted.....i never put a gun to their head.....in turn sold them without begging the buyer :2thumbs:....in turn I just bought new wheels.......for free  :nana:...

Troy

I'm sure he was flooded with (low-ball) offers within minutes of posting this thread...

I thought he was pretty clear about what he was going to do and why - and also approximately how much he needed to get out of it. He couldn't possibly keep the car and finish three of them (in this lifetime). When his other R/T is done will anyone complain that he was able to build it by selling this car or will he be applauded for resurrecting another one?

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
