I paid over 7 for my 73 U code non #s car, I cloned into a bee.  it was really nothing special.  It did have the ram air hood but not functioning, infact it ws missing all the pieces to make it functional.  I probably have about 8k more in the resorection.  It's a decent driver, definetly not the best deal i ever made, but that sounds like a good deal.  A real #s RT functioning ramcharger hood.  I spent 2k getting the hood functional.  Hell the hood alone could fetch 2k.  You could sell the air cleaner box hood switch actuator, all the hood stuff with hood for close to 5k.  your not even talking two 440, hideaway headlights RT tail lights.  I would definetly jump on that for under 10k.  My problem would be selling it after i made the deal :drool5:

Any way you look at it, that Charger is good for around $8,000. I would love to have that in my driveway. Hell, just make it into a nice driver.  :RantExplode:

41Husk,
Thanks for your opinion, its good to hear that I'm not the only one that thinks the car is worth the price. I really have no business buying it but I can't resist. Even if I don't make a dime on it the car is worth restoring! If I don't get the car it will not be there in 2 months (I'll explain in detail after I get the title for the car).

69bronzeT5,
Please feel free to use any of the pictures I post of the car, I think its a perfect candidate for your site. This car hasn't moved 6" in the last 10 years. I intended on replying to your question yesterday but it slipped my mind!

Harlow

If your thinking you might not make much money on it...why not keep it tucked away for when you finish the others you have?

Harlow,
I would LOVE to keep the car and save it for a project later down the road but I just don't think its feasible. I'm getting ready to rotisserie my 71 R/T and the 72 Rallye is already in need of body work. This car is already in a rapid state of decay and it deserves better ASAP. I'm hoping that whomever ends up with the car will take care of it and get it restored.

You can stop the car from breaking down more with some minor work.  And when will the next time you will get a car like that?!?!  I have sorta 8 cars sitting around.  Sure I could sell them and make one nice car.  But I keep them in storage cause someday I will want to get to them.  They are all safe and protected, not sitting outside or anything, so they are relatively in stasis.

If you drastically need the money, I understand selling the R/T.  But if it isn't THAT urgent.  Just find a nice warm place for her to sleep, and tuck her in for a rainy day!

I like this one better.  It gets right to the point

71 RT

Buy the car, you only come across stuff like this once every 10-20 years!  My opinion, prices are not going to go down.  SO if you wnat a 71 R/T, I don't think you are going to find many deals cheaper in the future.  Lets face it, these cars cost a LOT to restore, many of us will never recover the time and money we put into them.  But Many of us do it because of the love we have for the car.  I would love to put some pictures of the car on my wbesite, with your permission after you get it in your posession.  I like to post pictures of 71 R/T's, please feel free to check out my site and let me know if I can post the pic.  My site is www.1971chargerrt.com and I think you should buy it!
Just my opinion!

After you get it in your possession, if you don't have a buyer, let me know your askinf price, I may be interested.

In my opinion if you already have 2 high end 3rd gen cars to restore you should let this one go to a new home.  Sure it would be nice to keep every project car that came along but its not like this one is free and all it will do is set back your other projects for a while.  Im not sure how you sit finiancially but that much money would delay my current project for years.  I think letting it go to a good home is the right thing to do in this case...  the only way I think I would keep it is if you liked it better, and sell your other R/T to cover the cost of this one.   :scratchchin:

good goin,.. i hope you gave your boy a fitting reward...  :popcrn:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

100% correct sir! :yesnod: :yesnod:

Can't blame ya.....Although that might be one to hang on too if at all possible.

Maybe so but if you let it set outside it's gonna get worse than it already is. Sitting on flats who knows what the rails and floor looks like already. Sittng under trees lets debris get in all the gaps and when it rains they collect moisture. That car would cost a lot to restore....for me anyway. If i seen it it would be hard to buy for 8-9K unless I had a buyer already.
