Who has the cheapest price for rear valance corner panles for a 69; Jim's auto = $95. Anyone know of a cheaper place/price?

8WHEELER

Charger Specialties is more

REAR VALANCE END CAPS

$61.95 EA OR $112.95 PR

These are the rear valance end caps that join the lower part of the rear
quarters to the valance. a common rusted area.

Thanks Dan,

$62 beats $95; now that I'm back on dial up connection it takes a lot more patience surfing the web to find the lowest price on parts. I'm finding it a lot easier to just ask here on the forum and I haven't been disappointed yet... :2thumbs:

I can attest, along with other members I'm sure, that those repro corners fit like garbage. The angles aren't right, leaving bad uneven gaps between the 1/4's & rear valence. Some guys have went to the extreme & cut them & welded in more metal to get the lines right. I simply chose to give it a skim of fiberglass filler to "cut" a new line in.

It's all that's out there, so they have to do.

I'm not going to have an original # matching car, so is it OK to just weld the corners to the quarter panels and rear valance like Justin did, then just grind, fill, sand, paint, etc. and call it good or should I worry about flexing/cracking under torque??? I'd actually rather not have the body lines there....

I'm in the same boat as you. There is hardly a single thing on my car that is original. I personally like the look of the car without the body line between the corners.

Hi nice topic anybody know of a source for front 1969 fenders? mine are junk, hit and rusty thanks Stephen :coolgleamA:

69XP383

Stephen,

I don't know of any repos., but I think they are going to be out soon if not already, seems like some member have other threads on that very subject. I'd call year one and ask one of the sales reps. if they might know. I did see that they are now making a repro. real tail light valance for 69 & 70 chargers, but they want about $500 for the darn things.

If I find a source, I'll let you know. The fenders are about the only thing on the my car that don't need work :'(.

:iagree: Charger Specialties fit like crap. I had to add metal on to get them to fit. lots of welding and grinding :eek2:

The repops fit so poorly on my car that it was easier to hand fabricate them. I don't have the seam like the factory though.

Got a good sequence of how to modify them to get them to fit correctly at my website www.69hemi.com  Just go the restoration then sheet metal section and it will run you through the process.
