yeah but it's fun to armchair debate...  :smilielol:

i rememeber when i got mine in '84 the high blue book value for a top R/T was $ 14,000

so things are edging up... that i paid 2.3k for mine stripped in 84 tells ya something, i've heard plenty of stories over the years about the HEMI four speed someone got for 800 bucks... whatever...  :shruggy:

i found mine and there was potential there maybe someone else wouldn't have spent the dough i did but i saw a triple black R/T SE built to the nines and the stainless was all there...
my dream car.. i doubdt if many would concider that a good deal then...
the same R/T SE for $2.3 now?..

i was offered $ 14 K cash two weeks ago...
the couple "serious" offers i've been offered were in that vicinity..
I'd concider it for $30... so maybe it's actually valued somewhere in the middle...
remember the $ 10 Million Jennie Lee?..   :smilielol:

If I were you I would have been insulted if someone offered me 14 grand for your car.  It is worth way more than that

While we are talking old school prices...

600 for my 71 sixpack car in 1980.....
6K for the Hemi car in 91......

Both needed total restoration when bought so don't get the idea that they were drivers, but still... :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

A potential problem is the source of their figures. If they are getting stats from insurance companies, it will ofcourse jack the prices up as everyone gets more coverage than they need.

Exactly. I'm sure the 'values' don't come from the actual buyers/sellers on Mopars....

what counts though is the fourteen grand was in the guys hands...  :yesnod:
when was the last time some one tried to hand you a roll of hundreds six inches across?..

Well hey if your throwing out car prices from years ago I know that in 1982 my dad purchased his 69 HEMI 500 for $6,000. Two months later purchased a 440-6 pack 4 speed Superbird for $4,800. There were plenty of deals to be had back then, i you were looking.
