I have seen the photo before but I cant find it on this site or on the internet.  I need help with 3 connection points on the back of my 73 rally cluster that I dont know what they are for and I supspect its part of the problem I am having getting my dash to power up.

I need to see where all 3 plugs connect into the back side of the cluster into this little aluminum box that has 3 male connectors on it just above the radio side of the cluster.

I have two brown female connectors that come off the wriing harness that I dont know where they go and the end of the ground wire that connects to my oil, alt and temp.  Not sure if that ground wire connects into it or not.

sorry for the screwed up post,  It would be easyer if I had a photo to draw on and show you want I am trying to type.  it tookd me an hour to type this.

Well after a few hours or reading up on the cluster, it looks like my issue is with the voltage limiter that feeds into the fule gauge and temp gauge.  I know the little cylinder below it has a wire that connected to it but I dont know where,  And I have two wires that need to connect to it as well but dont have any idea what goes were.

Like this guy, a 3 prong.

I just took a picture of my gauge cluster last week when I pulled it.  I think I got a pretty good shot of that area.  I will post it tonight.

Looks to me like it goes to the yellow plug which is the accessory feed for the heat and a/c controls, rear defrost, and tach

bingo, this is exactly what I need.  Well, its going to help, what I need is a bunch of money to pay someone to sort this crap out for me.  The wiring this guy did who owned my car before me, has every light bulb spliced into cig lighter wire and heating.  its a mess.

thanks guys

Buy a new harness man...  I kept mine because it was in excellent shape, but really its worth it if your wiring is screwed.

hahaha... I didn't post the complete diagram just because there is only 2 FEMALE SPADE PLUGS on Rallye cluster harness up to cluster. One is WIDER to the ground and is traced white and the other one is black regular size. Rest of plugs are bullet or simply bulb sockets. It was just a one way fall.

Sweet diagrams, guess I don't need to show the picture of my cluster........  Thanks Matt and Nacho for those.

Nacho-RT74

diagram is nice but doesn't match 74 wiring... 74 underdash harness is different
