i was searching on http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/photopanel.cgi?listingid=319801 and found this listing for an auction in Wildwood, NJ and they are calling the 1970 SUPERBIRD " HEIST SUPERBIRD " does anyone know if this was really used as a getaway car ?

Casino Heist Superbird
1970 Superbird 426 Hemi. The car comes with build sheet and the original sticker. This car was used in the notorious, actual robbery as the get-away car from the Harrah's Casino in 1970. Complete ownership history including FBI information about the robbery comes with the car. 28,605 miles, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and bucket seats.

A Superbird would not be my first choice for a low profile getaway car.   I've never heard the story.   I won't say it is false, but it doesn't smell right either.

Wildwood NJ is not far from  me .I only recall a black daytona from Rio Grande that now resides in Houston TX.A few superbirds are near there .But none with bank robbing histories I recall.Theres a guy in my wing car club .Thats restoring a known bank robber daytona

I went to see this car .And couldnt collaberate its story as well .By internet or old newsletters :shruggy: And to date nothing more has come out on a wingcar get away vehicle
