I've got a emissions retest tomorrow and I bought three bottles of Heet (methyl alcohol) to help with the emissions. Has anyone used any kind of alcohol fuel additive before? What did you think?

I always dump a bunch of Dry Gas in for emissions tests. The sniffer doesn't pick up alcohol.

leaning out your mixture a lot will help a lot as well...there's quite a few tricks out there you could search to help you pass.

I used some rubbing alcohol and it worked, but I heard from a tester that the new machines have a probe that they stick in your tank that will detect alcohol.  At least, this is in Rhode Island

They definitely don't do that here in AZ. Aint nobody stickin' a probe in my tank!

They couldn't care less here in Texas...there's guys in brand new dodge trucks that slapped 30 year old broken glass packs on after tearing out the cat.
cursed emissions laws...glad I don't have to deal with them.
