So I'm watching the premiere of Hard Shine on TLC. It's a show about giving people a second chance in life and they build hot rods. In the back of the shop is a 1968 black primered Charger with some BIG chrome wheels on it. It looks like it is in really good shape, but it is all disassembled. It is in almost every camera shot because it is right next to the car they are working on.

Yeah, I saw that too.  Cool, huh?  From the previews I thought he only worked on '30's era cars so I was suprised to see that in there.
I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

Yeah I saw that tooooo.... I wish theyd work on that one on the show....

This Charger right here is a one of none, that means none before it, none to come.

I saw the re-air of the show, kept waiting for more camera time with the Charger. Not real sure if I like the show, didnt really keep my interest.

It may be like all of the TLC shows.  They all seem kinda boring (American Chopper etc) the first season, but as the seasons start rolling, the people start to get a little more camera friendly. I hope it gets a little more interesting.

It doesn't seem like a bad concept. I hope it gets a little more interesting though.

So far, I don't see the show lasting. Too boring. Who wants to see a bunch of numptys with no talent screwing around on old cars, where they don't belong.
So they've had a hard life...and now they're out of jail...WHO CARES!
Oh the pretty gurrrl broke her nail on a wrench....OH NO!!

I'd rather watch real professionals carrying out real work on cars, showing the intelligent thought processes involved with the build-ups.
Then, include the "human interest" aspect, as an aside. Not the meat of the show.

That's a different Charger than his...

At least that's what I think after looking at the pics in the link.

The car in the links is a 68 (side markers in the primer picture)

The car shown above is a 69, yes?

The 1969 Charger shown above belongs to justin1987, it's his signature picture. ;)

I watched that show and to put it nicely, it sucked. It was boring and the acting was bad.  :2thumbs:

lol..the acting is really bad. The way they deliver lines is sort of like "Trick my Truck". How robotic can a person sound? I wonder if they make contestants speak the same way to keep the mechanics from appearing 'off'. Or maybe they hire acting coaches from the porno movie circles.

Yep, the chick with the nails can't actually do any work because of her nice long nails. Two words...Your fired. If she's not totally useless, she could at least wear a mini-skirt & answer the phones or something.

There is no way that one can work on a car with long nails like that and keep them perfect too. Mine are never long.  Brake fluid makes a great nail polish remover!

I had the chance last night to watch the show. In my opinion, it was a waste of time for me. It was really boring. The show reminds me of a mix of American Chopper and American Hot Rod. It has been done before. I want something new...  :shruggy:
