I think those prices are a tad high. I just had an appraisal done for my Hemi car . It was just above what they state for a 440 car. I would think 45-50% less then what is stated.

i agree. while the numbers on NADA are impressive to those who own. they are not realistic. i am not sure what NADA bases their prices off of. but on 68-70 chargers at least it's 30% off easy. last time i looked they had excellent condition daytonas at $200+. so that seems more in line. but i have YET to see anyone get NEAR 6 figures for a 68-70 440 R/T car.. which is what they suggest they are worth

The NADA price guide for this market is worthless. Too vague and misleading.

Even the old car price guides don't keep up and are based on too little data.

I hate to say it, but if you want to know what some is worth, go thru the completed auctions on Ebay.

Too many sellers think what they have is Barrett-Jackson quality and it is not. Also there is a big B-J "Circus" premium.

Market does appear to be a little soft right now.

One thing in those confuses me. It appears that they are saying to add 35% if the car has a 440 V8? Whch was the base motor in an R/T, so why would you add 35% to the base figure? Because I know good and well they aren't saying that a 318 car in poor condition is $18K.

Its a dealers guide, what do you expect?   ;) :shruggy:

I totally agree with you guys.  Nada is a joke.  I use to use it as a reference, but the market is so soft it's hard to predict.  The only thing that works for me now to find out market value is ebay. :Twocents:

RangerDan440

I wouldnt put a whole lot of faith in that either-I just saw a nice, "correct" T7 '69 R/T auto sell for $40K (he was initially asking over 50 for it  ) and it took awhile to sell.

Most of the guys I see carrying NADA guides around at auctions are the same ones who are busily writing down numbers and picking apart the various cars.  Oddly enough they are seldom the same guys who get bidder passes.  That isn't meant as a sarcastic observation either btw.

I can pretty much agree with 69charger2002.

You really want to find out the true market value (the price people are actually willing to pay).

I can give my opinion as a potential buyer.  I dont make a lot of money. So I'm not willing to buy a 2nd gen for more than 10k-20k. depends greatly on the condition as well

I'm not rich.

NADA or no NADA, they're only worth what someone is willing to pay....

Yep, it says '70 V code Chargers are big $$$, but mines at a reasonable price or offer, and no takers yet. :popcrn:

Well, I can give you some real world market perspective. I had my '69RT on EBAY up until Monday of this week. Yellow 4-speed- some of you may have seen it on there. It reached $43,000 with 24 hours left and I turned down a couple of end it now offers for $50,000. After 5 years of resto, I just couldn't bring myself to part with it and ended the auction. However, had I received some "NADA" offers, I would have an empty spot in my garage as I type.

A potential problem is the source of their figures. If they are getting stats from insurance companies, it will ofcourse jack the prices up as everyone gets more coverage than they need.

Ghoste

So it's NADA as in "NADA" chance these prices are accurate?

I don't believe you were supposed to enter the 440 as a option.Although it was correct to add the a/c as a option.

hemi-hampton

I beleive that means add 35% over the base model 318 price. When I looked at the NADA Guide about 2-3 years back the prices where only half that at best. Was surprised a couple of months back to see they suddenly doubled or more :o. I think they come out every year. Maybe next year the new book will readjust to a lower price to reflect what looks like a soft market or downward spiral? LEON.

Like the GTX, your not supposed to check off the 440 motor option if your came stock with the 440 (as with the R/T) since the % is already built into the price. Only if it was an optional motor like a 383 for the base 318 car.
