How many of you guys have been affected by the constant rise in fuel, obviously it has I am just curious what you guys input here, me personally haven't travelled as much in 2007 as years past, with the General getting single digits for fuel mileage he doesn't go out to play much :smilielol: As expensive as everything is getting and the unknowing of where we will be gouged next I personally am not doing any unnecessary spending and keeping those $$ close just in case.

Gas price is not such a big deal anymore, it happens.  However, I'm not getting too excited about heating my house this winter.   :eek2:  Time to start digging a couple wells  http://www.geoexchange.org/

I haven't been affected drastically myself. Buying my little 93 Shadow 4-banger for a daily driver last year has helped. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Yeah I just bought a 4 cylinder car too...

gnrl01

I am thinking one 4 cylinder in the family may be a good move, a hemi,440,350 and a V6 does not quite do the best! :brickwall:

Hemi?   :P

Heres my $400 turd, its a 5 speed too.

I really haven't cut down on driving at all. In fact I am probably driving more this year. The Charger gets around 10, and my daily driver Yukon gets around 12.

So what you are saying is by owning the chevy it cancels out the Ford..interesting  :smilielol:

When the prices first started rising drastically I was pretty worried. My sport satellite wasn't running yet, but it was going to/is my daily driver, so I was getting kind of annoyed. The first time I filled up it was 3.60 for premium (almost 70 bucks to fill the tank). Since then the prices have dropped and down here in AZ the prices are much cheaper. Right by our new house the gas is 2.75 for regular so premium is under 3. I'm pretty happy with that and don't let the cost get to me. 3 bucks for 12-15 miles of driving an old mopar around is worth it to me.

TruckDriver

It is hurting me. Mainly because work in the asphalt bussiness is slow because of oil prices. I'm already $7,000 less than what I made last year at this time :P    So, it is getting to the point I have to decide wheather to buy food for me and my boys, or buy gas and pay bills. Now I have to move in 58 days, and I'm not sure how I am going to do it. I might have to sell my Charger just to fund moving :brickwall:

We used to travel to 1 or 2 car shows every weekend, and put at least 3,000 miles on the show cars each summer.   This year we're doing just 1 a weekend, and trying to stay within a 30 mile radius of home.  Last Sunday we drove to the Mopar Happening in Belvidere IL, but we drove our '02 Vette, because it was over a 2 hour drive to get there.   The Max Wedge I drive gets around 7 mpg, while the Vette will get over 25 mpg.   I kid the guys and tell them our Vette is our "economy car".

i travel 45 mph in my '05 hemi ram quad cab.... everywhere.  I take the backroads to not piss off those who drive faster than me and get better gas mileage doing it though.

Everyone is affected by the high gas prices.  The cost of getting goods to market is increased and is reflected in the prices that we all pay.  Any product that is petrolium based (plastic?) has increased in cost.  All businesses in general are passing on the added costs that they are incountering.  It goes on and on and on.   Bob

THE COLONEL

It's not that bad for me....right now.  The Colonel has a tired old 318, and I still get good milage out of it, howevre next year that will change.  Even though I get good milage, it still hurts to look at the pump and see an almost $50 ring up to fill it, and that is the 87 octane.  I'm not worried about a big block and what prices will be next year either.  Heck for the way prices change, the 93 or 94 octane could be $2.95 next year like the 87 right now in my area.  I doubt it will be that cheap ever again, but it could happen, but I really don't see my driving habbits changing next year from this year.  The only thing different will be, that I will not just get in the car with the kids, and drive on the local roads for 2 hours.  But as far as cruises, I will continue my same patteren, unless for some unseen reason.

Yes! Absolutely!  I've cut down on the unneccesary driving and (cruising) quite a bit over the last couple of years.  I hope I'm not getting tired of the hot rods?
