I just happened to have my camera along today when I stopped in at a body shop to take pictures of a 60's Cuda when I spied this 70. He left as soon as I pulled in so I followed him briefly and snapped off a few pictures. Single exhaust. Might have been a 318.

Yeap, and in need of front end work.. Looks like the lower ball joints are shot..........

That's a cool looking '70....... Did he notice he was being "followed"?   :icon_smile_cool:

I really like that one.  With all the R/T clones its nice to see a base model once in a while.

I agree, good looking car!

Back in the day I bet that the tires looked normal.  But today, almost like running "skinnies" on all four.  :icon_smile_big:  I bet a 318 2 bbl could break those loose on the 1-2 shift.  :drive:

a great argument for wider tires... thanks for running her down..  :smilielol:

Looks good!  If I saw some one following me around snapping of pictures, I would pull over let them shoot what they want and BS for a bit :yesnod:

Great looking car, but as others have noticed, it sure looks goofy with those skinnies on it!

Yep, that car's just beggin' for some meats under it! :icon_smile_cool:
Looks like it's in pretty darn good shape...other than the worn out bushings. :icon_smile_tongue:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Why do some block the tag number. How would that benefit anyone if it wasn't?

I think he knew I was following him and taking pictures. He pulled over at one point so I just kept going and turned around and that's when I got the picture of the front of the car. He finally went into a "no outlet" heavily wooded area so that's where I stopped following him. It was nice to see a base model with hubcaps, single exhaust, and most likely 78 series tires. Remember those?

So some unsrcupulous person, or persons can't track down the location of the car for whatever purposes they may want to (steal it, bother the owner about selling it, steal parts from it and so on)

The bugle sounds the charge begins. But on this battlefield no one wins.

70charger_boy

It does look goofy with the skinny tires.  Looks like a bodybuilder with skinny legs.

Exactly 69DodgeCharger. It's all about respecting another persons privacy especially when they have no knowledge of me taking the picture and posting it online.

Not to start an argument but I really dont get that either.  A license plate number is public info displayed on the outside of a vehicle, so people ARE going to see it one way or another.

Skued

Not to be a knit-picker, but that's a Charger 500.  I base that on the bucket seats and the tail finish panel.  Base Charger had neither. ;)

I dont know my 70s so you could be right. I just didnt see a 500 emblem on it.  Looks like a regular Charger arrow to me.

when ya think about it, the single biggest improvment when ya' bought these cars were wider radial tires,.. (and/or slicks) ain't that why the A-12 cars came with chrome lugs?...  It's laughable today those hard F-70 14s...
so you alter the stance with rubber and a couple cranks on the T-bars.. too bad i can't lower mine safey, because here in the hilly city i need the extra ground clearence...
cause in case ya didn't know, my R/T is in the shop now having the frame fixed,..  :scratchchin:
maybe a skid plate is on the agenda?...  :shruggy:

For whatever reason there are 500 that have the arrow badges on them.

:iagree: It's sort of an oddity that happened with the 500's. I'm glad mine has it's 500 badges, instead of arrows. :icon_smile_big:

Woah! :o Am I seeing that right? Torn frame just under the steering gearbox? :scope:
