An instant garage from the Canopy Factory http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&productId=200312913&R=200312913 ? We really need a storage shed and everybody I have talked to who owned one of the larger garages for cars have loved them. Thanks guys!

If I remember correctly you are from minnesota right.  I have never used one but I from minnesota also and I would be afraid to put my car in one of those in the winter.  I would think that a good heavy snowfall would weaken it pretty good.  It probably would not be bad if you could always make sure there is no more than a couple inches of snow on it, but sometimes if you are out of town or something it is hard keep up on that.

I never heard of that one, but had used a 12' x 20' "Cover-It" brand shelter for 5 or 6 years without any snow load problems. (I'm in New York & we get a decent amount of snow.) It did develop some pin hole water leaks after about 18 months though. I draped a tarp from the supports inside to keep it from dripping on the car. The most it held was about 8" of a heavy & wet snow. You just need to make sure you can access it from all sides to broom it off. That means keeping a clear path all the way around it too.

I gave it to a friend of mine who had it up for another 4 years with the same fabric. He didn't have any problem with it either. I've been told there are several grades of these temporary shelters & some people only get one year out of them before it's junk. Mine was about $550 delivered well over 10 years ago. They're great for temporary use, but I would never plan on making a shop with a full set up inside. It's still just a glorified dining canopy for a picnic.   :icon_smile_big:
