Can anyone recommend a good car cover that would protect a car that sits outside year round?  Im still gathering ideas but I want to be prepared incase my car ends up outside again this winter.  I would also like one that will protect it from the rain since my windshield leaks right now.

Also what do you do when you cover a car that has an antenna?   What about hood pins, they look like they could rip a car cover in the wind.

I take the antenna off mine before I put the cover on.

Ive thought about removing my antenna for good, but for now its still on there...

You definately want a cover that repels water but also breaths (get one with roof vents).
Getting mosture inside the cover will realy screw things up.
Also I never spend a lot of money on a car cover because I usually replace it about every two years or so (wear, tears, dirt, elastic not elastic anymore and so on)
Its also nice to have one with drivers door access so you don't have to take the cover off to get in and out of the car.

Here is a previous thread were I posted pics of the car cover I currently have.

And here is one currently on e-bay.

It has a strap that goes under the car just in front of the front tires to secure the cover and holes under the doors for a security cable if you want to put one on.
Does not come with cable.

Not sure about the size of your Charger, mive is 17 feet 9 inches long and the size E cover fits really well as you can see in the pics.

Oh as far as the antena goes. The one I had on my Charger had a screw at the base so I could loosen it and lay it flat. Later I replaced it with a telescopic antenna.
DO NOT put a hole in the cover, take it off or replace it with one that works with a car cover.  (My  :Twocents: )

Hope this helps.

Then call them and talk to them. Tell them the conditions the car will be in. There are many many many different car covers out there and they all do not do everything. Inside only covers wont protect outside. Some outside covers dont protect the paint as good as an inside car with an inside cover.  This isnt a problem if its a show car and stays in a trailer and inside a garage when not at shows. Order the right cover for the job. Thats why I said to call them and talk. They will recomend the cover that gives you the best protection for the enviroment the car will be in.

My cover for my 71 is an indoor cover with limited outside use. I told them the charger stays inside but a few days a year it may stay outside at a motel during a show. I wanted a cover to protect on those outside days. If i was to leave this cover outside every day it would not do its job. Get the antenna grommet with it and mark a hole for the antenna so you dont have to keep taking it on and off.

hey
i have 5 cars under covers for many yrs and have gone through alot of differant kinds of covers . for yr round outdoor  protection you need to use the noah fabric . the last one i had to throwout lasted me more then 7 yrs . cheap ones are good for about one yr and don't work that well . california car covers makes a nice one for about $250  plus shipping . but you can get the same cover from wolf covers through summit racing for $149 and free shipping . hope that helps. I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.
