We have a chance to buy a custom made bra for the 68-69 Charger as a group buy from a maker in Spokane, WA.  For one the cost is $350 but for 4 the price will be $280 or less.  It is available only in black and will be made by an upholstery maker here in the Valley.  I will send in the name and contact to anyone that is interested but if we can get sufficient orders as a group, the cost for all will be less.  Who wants to stop those nick and chips on the front end of the charger while driving to shows and doing other fun things?  Shipping will be extra.  Contact me if interested.

For $280, I'll just duct tape a wool blanket and some window screen across the front of mine.

nick and chips on the front end are part of the game when driving these beauties. I want everybody to see what a beautiful nose my car has... :2thumbs:

I have a buddy that owns a used car lot. He pulls off many of them due to wear and 99 times out of 100 they have done more damage to the paint than it's worth..  Then he has to repair the paint or find another bra to cover the rubbed off paint..   These, I'm sure, are cheap bra's, but from what I have seen my cars will go nude.....

At $280 this in not cheap!  I cannot say about the quality of the unit as it is made for each car and not mass produced.  If you leave a bra on a car all the time it will damage the paint.  Those that leave a bra on a car all the time are not very smart!!  I am not selling these and only want to get one for my car as I have just paid over $800 to fix chips from rocks while driving to shows.

THE COLONEL

Yep.  When you get dirt under that bra, the vibration from the car rubs the dirt into the paint, and therefore rubs the paint off the car.  They look good on some cars, but I would not get one for myself.  Do you have any pics of these?

Sorry Al. Didn't mean the ones you want are cheap.. Just the opposite. I'm saying that the ones my buddy gets on cars all the time are el Cheepo's.. The last one was on a Camero and said La-Bra on it. It made La-Mess of the front end...

Most of the time when he pulls off a BRA he finds it was put on to hide front end damage.

Plenty of doctors in LA and all over the country can fix that trouble now-a-days..

Someone had to say it. ;D

I believe the particular products we're discussing here aren't for full-time use - only for actually traveling. I know several people in the local club who use them without any issues. If you leave a show or cruise late you're bound to drive through swarms of bugs so these save a lot of time removing the pieces from the grill and radiator. If you leave one of these on long enough to have a dirt problem then you're doing it wrong.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

RECHRGD

Al, I'm interested as long as we can drive to some of those far away shows at highway speeds and have no paint rubbing issues.

That's true. The average car bra user will just slap it on & drive it year-round, all the accumulated crap will act as sandpaper on the paint after a while. However, a classic car not being used as a daily driver would have it removed & clean underneath frequently.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I'll think about it..  I dunno.    I'd have to see it.    Bras usually involve snaps and screws and velcro pieces here and there.

I'd rather think about some sort of clear removable tape.    I really only need the front edge of the hood.    I got clear rock chip paint on my valance already - that stuff is great for the lower portions... too bad it's not smooth enough to go on the upper areas also.

There a new spray on bra that you can purchase now. You can get it in black or clear. Work just like a spary paint can.  :paintingpink:
It will wash off with soap and water, but if you get caught in the rain it won't come off. Water only won't work.
You can by these can at just about any auto part store. 8.99$ a can at local Canadian Tire.

Why would I want to cover up the best looking part of the car?

i wonder if there will any mod required for the higher bumperetts Vs the normal sized ones?...  :scratchchin:

Ghoste

Nice pic Brock.  Some call the road wear from driving a car patina and insist a price be paid for such extravagance.  We let women burn their bras and I say we do the same for our cars.
