I did a search and didn't see this, so sorry if its a repost. Go to Jay Leno's Garage, scroll down on the related videos until you find the 66 Hemi Coronet. Pretty good video on it. Wish I had his garage!

I love the part when he is driving around in the Coronet and then goes on to say.. -When I first got this thing, there must have be some trouble with the shifter, when I put my foot in it -Boy, it seemed to rew really high, I would back off and it would shift.. I went to a Tourqueflite guy and go -Aumm, I don't think its shifting and he goes -It shifts, just keep your foot in it! -I said really? -Yes, just keep your foot in it, it will shift! -Really? -Yeah!! -OK! .... WROOOOOOOOOM -Its shifting...

Our hobby needs guys like that. He has the cash to go after the really rare and exotic stuff and give it the attention it deserves. The part when he said that back in the day the "cool guys would put 318 badges on HEMI cars and freak everyone out" was pretty funny.

I also really respect the fact that his collection tends to be comprised of just cars that are of historical significance or cars that interest him personally.  It would be too easy to just try and buy up what the other millionaires think are cool in an effort to impress.  It's clear that he really loves cars, all cars.

i just dont know what it is he's does that warrents him being paid so freakin well.

Well, I'm with ya there but that applies to all members of the personality cult.  I'd sooner pay to see him than Paris, Lindsay, Nicole, ad nauseum.
That's a whole other (huge) topic though.  ::)

Yes, he got it open ok, but when he closed the hood he just gave it a shove and never pulled back on the secondary. That tends to chip the hell out of the paint.   I'll have to write him and give him hell about it.... :icon_smile_wink:

:yesnod: At least Jay contributes something worthwhile to the entertainment industry rather than just walk around and annoy the general public with arrogant self-indulgence.

When you look at Leno's collection, it's really eclectic.   It's clear that Leno does not buy cars to impress other people.  He does not buy cars with investment in mind.  He just goes for cars that he thinks are cool.
