Disc Brake Calipers Interfering with Sway Bar?

I put a set of 1973 Duster disc brakes on the front of my '69 Charger a few months ago. During the installation I had to cut a piece of metal from the frame that was rubbing against the caliper because the caliper is on the front side of the rotor. I found out a few weeks ago that was where a factory sway bar would have been attached.

My question is, would I be able to install an aftermarket sway bar without it getting in the way of the calipers? I don't want to rear mount the calipers. Also, what kind of sway bars do you recommend? Thanks!

Not trying to be a smart ars, but why not switch sides and make them rear mount?? Many, many, many of us have done exactly that..  Works like a charm and never interferes with the sway bar or anything else...

The only parts you can use are your spindles. The caliper adapters and calipers have to come from a F,M,J,R, or B body. The A body calipers/adapters won't work due to being way to small a piston for a heavy B body, and creating interference. The fact that you had to "Cut" a piece off the frame should have given you warning.

Wether you can fit an aftermarket sway bar is the least important problem you have right now. You need to do the brakes right or they are pretty much guaranteed to fail.

Hey justin-----use the search feature to find the threads where all of this was discussed extensively.  Is-it-ever-done explained in these threads in detail the best choice of calipers, disc pads, brake hoses, etc as well as a discussion on whether to use sliders or pin type calipers.  Proper choice of a master cylinder is important too but fortunately, NAPA has a new reproduction master out that just69charger recently had a post on.  After you have digested all of this you may have further questions which I'am sure everyone will be more than happy to answer.
