Anybody know what the differential offset is in a 73 "A" body car is? From my measurements it is 2 inches. I'm being told that it is closer to 1 1/2 inches. Anyone have the factory specs as to what Ma Mopar built in as far as the engine, trans, and rearend offsets?
(We are having a Dana 60 built for a 73 Scamp)

Yes I know a Charger is a "B" body, just figured someone here would know and the offsets for either body are probably the same for both bodies.  ;D

I'm not sure what you mean by offset but maybe this chart will help?

What I mean by offset is pinion center to right and left axle flange. The difference of offset between the  right and left hand side. The differential is not centered in the chassis.    Grumpy

the pinion is definatly not centered , I d on have the sepc for the offset handy though , 1.5" does sound right

I know it's 1-3/8" in b-bodies, maybe it's the same?  Not sure...

I know about 8 3/4" dunno the rest but mostly sure is the same. Pinion is not centered just because make the offset to attack the gear on CENTERED carrier. Both sides axles are same size.

8-3/4" rears axles are same-sized, but Dana axles are definitely offset - driver's side is  1-3/8" longer.  The more I think about it, the more I'm betting it's the same for different bodies, since the reason for the offset is the same - to match the 8-3/4" pinion centerline.

Of course, you want to be certain before you get axles - check with dr diff - http://members.aol.com/doctordiff - guy knows about everything you could ever want to know about Danas and mopar rears.  Good prices & parts, too :)
