Hi,
Does anyone have a pic of how the rear bumper guard bracket attaches, (from the bottom of the bracket to the valance)?
I took them off, now I forget how to put them back on. :scratchchin:

Theres a small bracket that bolts to the frame rail with 2 bolts (if I remember right) and the bumper guard bolts to it.  I dont have a pic of them but take a pic of what you are trying to do and I can probably tell you what is wrong.

That is what I am talking about. :yesnod:
I need a pic of how that bracket attaches to the valance & bumper guard.
Thanks Matt.

It actually doesnt touch the valance.  The bumper guards fit into the slot and the brackets bolt to the frame.  I'd take a pic of it, but I think they have all been removed on the cars I have left.  I'll look tomorrow and make sure.

There is a bolt that is a PITA to get to behind the valence that hold the bracket to the frame. I have been trying to get mine off but no tool I have is the right size.

:iagree:  For whatever reason the 73 and 74 guards mount completely different.

What I can't figure out is how to get the bracket to attach from the bumper guard down underneath to the valence. It seems as if the bracket is too long?  :scratchchin:
I know allot of guy's do not like the guards but I want the car to be as factory looking as I can get it.

Funny thing I just happened to run across this bracket....  who knows where the other one is.   :shruggy:   Anyway, its one of the brackets I was talking about.  These bolt to your rear frame, and the bumper guards bolt to these.

:iagree:

that bracket makes an offset on frame rail to be able to bolt bumper guard lower brace.

Ok you just lucked out again.  I ran across these pics while looking for something else.  The bracket has been cut up but you can see where it attaches to the frame.

Matt,
This is what I am talking about. What am I doing wrong? It is as if the bracket is to long & goes past the threaded insert piece? :shruggy:

Do you have any pics of it together?  I cant see anything wrong with the setup so far.

neither I. Elongated hole runs to frame bracket

...

This is just a guess but we can give a try to this: fenders top braces are very similar... maybe were confused on assembly ?
