What is the thickness of the rear window seal for 68-70 Chargers???

What is the thickness of the rear window seal for 68-70 Chargers??? I am thinking about buying a seal myself and installing it myself along with the trim.

Any tips?

when i did mine i directly glazed it using windscreen adhesive,obviously i fitted the reveal mould clips first and fitted the headcloth as well.
i did nt want to use the old school sealer,i just did nt think it was secure enough,with the modern stuff your less likely to get a water leak as well.

5/16" butyl tape works for me.  I tried 3/8 but it was too thick to install the trim.

Along the same topic, does anyone have rough measurements for the molding clip holes?  After replacing the rot, the holes are gone around the rear window and I will have to drill new ones.

I need pics of where all the rear window trim clips are located also. Anybody have a pic?

HERE IS A TIP AS I INSTALLED GLASS FOR YEARS . THAT IS CORRECT 5/16 TAPE . CLEAN PINCHWELD THROUGHLY , USE 3M PRIMER MADE FRO PINCHWELDS , LAY BAKLITE UPSIDE DOWN ON SAW HORSES, TAPE THE GLASS STARTING AT THE BOTTOM AND FOLLOW THE EDGE OF GLASS .THIS WILL GIVE YOU A STRAIGHT LINE , AND WONT SEE MUCH OF TAPE AFTER TRIM IS INSTALLED . WHEN INSTALLING USE 3 PEOPLE AND USE RUBBER BLOCKS . I DO HIGH END RESTO WORK , AND WITH THE DESCIBED METHOD , YOU WILL NOT SEE AN UNEVEN TAPE LINE THAT HAS A ZIGZAG LOOK UNDER MOULDING . LARRY

This is good to know. I plan on doing my headliner this weekend (I feel brave), & the back glass will follow shortly.

Question: If the whole car has been freshly painted, including the pinchweld, do you still need to use a pinchweld primer? Can you use the butyl tape right over the paint instead? What size rubber blocks do you use?

Opps, almost forgot. Blakcharger, I installed all new rear window trim clips on my '69. I had to drill a few new holes after I repaired some rusty areas. I'll post a pic of the clip location for you soon.

Hey Bill,
My car is freshly painted also and the pinchweld is just spotless as the car was painted in base/clear.
I would appreciate any photos that you could post of the trim clip locations as I am wanting to install the rear glass this weekend.

My 3M butyl tape kit came with its own blocks.

It will help the tape stick better . I think the pinchweld was black on all cars from the factory ? I think it looks better black
