speaking of answering the questions, invariably some know it all also comes up and proceeds to tell you all the shit that's wrong with your ride.
I some ahole telling his buddy that my disc brakes were not stock.  He was right, but shut the F up.

Yep. Most people don't realize what it takes to have a car thats nearly 40 years old on the road nearly every day. If the car is numbers matching rare RT and all the parts are there then sure, restore it back to factory original. But if all the parts aren't there, then put improved parts on and drive it.

what insurance companies allow you to drive your classic daily?

Look into Grundy Insurance.    Hagerty started advertising "unlimited milage" but that is BS - they would not insure one of my rigs when I told them i expected more than 3000 miles a year.   Grundy is for real.

But both companies require you to have a seperate car, registered and insured, for "daily driving".

I believe most classic car underwriters require you to have another car registered as a full time vehicle. My company requires a yearly  mileage statement along with the renewal. Driving each day isn't something they disallow as far as I'm concerned.
Cars owned:
1968 Dodge Charger, 48k orig. miles, family owned since new.
Not a Hemi, a mini-hemi 340.
