After many, many months of restoration the car is pretty much done - trying to attach pictures but unable to do so - not sure if I have to reduce picture sizes?  Any suggestions?

Nacho-RT74

you can use any graphic program... even paint. Juts open with paint,  enter on IMAGE and you will find the option to resize in %. 100 % is the actually size... try with 70%, then save as JPG and another name if you want to keep the original image size saved on same place and check what you get.

Charger1973

NICE!!!  What color is that?  Looks like FY1 with bad lighting... maybe?

Back N Black

Very nice!,you did a great job.  :2thumbs:

dvnen

It is Y3 - Citron Yella - picture does not do the colour justice.

Charger1973

Awesome.  Our cars are going to look alot alike only I got rid of the wheel well trim, and added the belt moldings.  Mine will be FY1 with the same graphics as yours but no deck lid stripe.  I never liked that one for some reason, but you really dont see it on too many cars.

if you want I can flip you an email of better res. photo's to better show the colour.

Did you lleave the lower window trim off?  Also, did all 74's have chrome trim around the fenders and quater panels at the bumpers?

Great looking car by the way, ours will also be very similiar, but will be painted Top Banana, and will have a Canopy top on it.

Its all in the options I believe, although you most often see the trim around the bumpers on SE models.  I added it to my 73.  My car didnt come with the belt moldings either but I like them so I added those too.

thanks for the compliments and to all those who offered help/assistance along the way - I will try to post some other shots of the engine compartment and other closer ups for those that emailed me.  I did  put the stripes on myself - I had a car detailer do it - best $200 I had ever spent!  The fender moldings are not orginal to the car, but I removed the bumper fillers (front and back) and brought the bumpers in closer and then thought they trim added a nice finished touch - I found some from an SE and had them rechromed.  There is suppose to be chrome trim along the top of the doors and in the "C" of the side windows, but I have not been able to locate a set - when I do I will put them on.  Also, looking for bottome rocker panel moulding to finish it off. Don't mind the stupid questions but what does "rake" mean as mentioned in a couple of posts?

Charger1973

I think they are referring to the stance, the front end is lower than the back.  Who did the chrome for you?  I need to have some done too.  You can get the rocker moldings on ebay I believe...

I had someone in toronto chrome the pieces.  I have seen the inside rocker mouldings on ebay, but not the outide ones (below the door).

Ghoste

Car looks fantastic!  It makes me think of a 3rd gen Dirty Mary Crazy Larry car.

Charger1973

You may have been looking for the wrong ones?  There are 2 different styles but the wider trim goes to the SE cars.  Yours should have this trim to be correct.

now I am confused...if I recall, back 20yrs ago my car had the wide chrome rocker trim, not the skinny one as shown.  Was the skinny trim standard and the wide trim an option on the rallye's?

Charger1973

Id say no but I have been wrong before.  Ive never seen the wide trim on a rallye.

wide trim is for 73-74 SE only from factory, however use same location rivets and you can interchange then just changing plastic clips. My car being a hardtop did came with SE mouldings but is a Venezuelan car so is a different story
