hi - trying to remove the emergency brake assembly - would like to remove the surface rust from assembly.  i removed the 3 screws from assembly - having a tough time trying to remove the cable from the assembly - how do you remove the clip to get the cable off the assembly??  do you need to use pliers or is there a special tool??  need some help!!  thanks

The cable housing has a ferule nut that is pressed on it and then the cable housing pushes into the e-brake assembly.  Just pull the brake cable out of the e-brake assembly.  But once you pull it out you will need a new one.  they are rusty and thin and break.  The only place I found them is in a e-brake fastener kit sold on e-bay.  R/T specialties most likely has them also.
Thats how I roll.
