So this guy made his money in telecommunications?

Does that mean he runs the biggest fleet of messenger burros?  :D

I'm glad he passed Gates, I hate Microsoft.

Umm Ponch - I'm not about to go searching this site for your quote but was it not you who once stated that rather than simply posting a link, you/me/whomever could also copy the text of the story, or at least the jist of the story, into the post as well as some folks have limited access to certain sites at work or are just too lazy   to click the link?

No worries now as I get the idea from Bob's response but in the future....

BTW - congrats to all the up and coming Mexicans!

Come on down to San Diego to see the racist "Chicano park" where "Mexicans yes & Yonkes no" is on the wall. Along with that, there's a map of the good 'ol US of A is there with a few states painted the mexican colors, states like Calif., Az., N. Mexico, Texas. So they still want invade these states, oh that's right, they already did. And I'm one of them, it's just my Irish half that says..."This ain't Mexico"
"Let me explain something to you, um i am not Mr. Lebowski, you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the dude, so that's what you call me. That or his dudeness, or duder, or you know, el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

I don't get it. Half the people in Mexico are jumping the border because they can't make a living there and yet the richest man on the planet lives in Mexico City? If it's possible for a Mexican to become the wealthiest man in the world I say it's possible for the average Jose down there to make a living. How about staying put and fixing your own mess fellas?

Some folks just can't let it go and always feel the need to interject with misanthropic comments. It kinda proves my point that the whole anti-immigration feeling has a lot more to do with bigotry and prejudice than with this "being a nation of laws". I don't know how you can go from mentioning that a Mexican is the richest man in the world to anti-immigration diatribes in same thread.

We all live in the same country as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett - shouldn't we all be filthy rich too?

I think you miss the point by playing the bigotry/racism card every time someone speaks out against illegal immigration. It's an intellectually lazy attempt at making an argument IMO. Whether it was directed at me or not I seriously would like to know why these people choose to uproot their lives and move here instead of making things right where they are?

And I'll explain (again) how the topic can move from the wealthiest man in the world to illegal immigration. Aside from the title of this thread being "Another sign the Mexicans are taking over...." which invites that sort of debate, I think I pointed out in my first post that if a Mexican can become the richest man on the planet in Mexico, how come the average person there seems to be unable to make a living there? How is it possible for a Mexican to become a multi-billionare in that financial climate if it's so bad? And if it really is class warfare why don't the little guys take their nation back from those who are keeping them down?

Maybe the Mexican is wealthy, because he made some really good friends in high levels of Govt.  I know alot of Mexican's and they are very, very strong people.  If there was a possibility to make it in Mexico then they would and we would be the ones crossing the border and probably butchering them like the forefathers did to the indians.

Who freaking cares.  Let them in and pay taxes

Well, you know, it's called civil war (guns and bombs and all that). If you love your country you keep it. You don't run and hide in some other country and pretend the bad things never happened. You stand up and take back what is rightfully yours.

Youre right, the title does invite the debate. But why do you automatically assume that Mexicans are illegals? What if we're taking over, but most of us are either born here or came here legally?

There are about 26 million Mexicans/Mexican Americans in the US. The illegal population, we're constantly being told, is about 12 million - and that includes other Latin immigrants, Chinese, Russians, etc. Even if half of those illegals are Mexican, that's not even a quarter of the total number. I'd say that going off on illegals at the mere mention of the word "Mexican" qualifies as prejudice at least.

Instead of drawing me in to some point you want to make why not just cut to the chase?

If you want my take in the Indians I honestly think we should do whatever it takes, right now, to honor the treaties we made with them back in the late 1800s. That or we should give them all our national forest land. They were here first and we made treaties with them and broke them and that should be made right. If they decided right now to declare war on the US govt. they would be within their right. Who knows, I might even help them.

That wasn't the point I was trying to make. Unless you are a full blooded native american, you can't say that people should stay in their countries and fight the governments. What's your last name? Is it English? Dutch? German?

I don't get it. I can't say something? Other than yelling "fire" in a crowded theater I think I say say most anything. Freedom of speech is one of the rights our multi-heritaged forefathers fought for. And if tyrants, domestic or otherwise, attempt to take over the US you're saying I have no right to fight for it because I'm not fully Indian? Please explain. Otherwise I guess only 1/8th of me will be able to fight.

You didn't take your Sharp pills, do you? My point is that it's rather hypocritical when you say that people can't leave their countries, when more than likely you are the descendant of someone who did (unless you're native american).
