door trim separating door panel and upper door pad

I am needing a set of chrome trim pieces for the interior of my door between the pad and the panel.  The spare ones I have are black.  Were these all made of the same metal?  Can I just strip these down and polish them or are they supposed to be chrome plated?

They are polished stainless, so if they are in decent shape, you should be able to strip the paint off and polish them.
