Buying a used rollback.........what would you NOT buy.........

Hi Guys, would like some info from those who have owned and used a rollback.  I have never used one but am looking to buy one for my personal use. This will not be for a business, just my hobby. I plan to move several hours away in a couple of years and will be moving my cars, junk and all, to my new place. 
       Things I have learned , nobody makes a rollback,  many company's make trucks and you have one fitted with a flatbed and hydraulics. Jerre-Dan seems to be popular.
        I have seen them listed from 5000 to 50,000. I was hoping to stay under 10 grand. My wrecker co driver told me they like UDs, made by Nissan. He said stay away from Fords and Chevy made from 92 thru 96, to much trouble with the fuel injected motors.
        I guess any advice , good and bad service from all brands, would be helpful for me to learn what I should purchase.   Also, how important is getting one with the stinger for a second vehicle, yes, no , maybe...........as you can tell , a newbie here for sure............J
