Anyone use them? What did you think? I'm having my magnum 500's mounted tomorrow and thats what I'm thinking of going with.

Just 6T9 CHGR

I had them on my Charger with no problems.  Some sizes are discontinued so they might be hard to get

They are OK for fair weather driving, I would never consider them an all season radial that's for sure.
I have run TA's since 1980, I don't think they are good in the rain, or if its cold out, maybe a
slight bit of snow on the ground ''yikes'', they are worthless compaired to most other radials I ran
before the TA's, but they look good   ;D

But I don't hate them, like some of the people I know, you can't make everybody happy.

I had them on my charger prior to getting the bias plys back on there.  I have them on my el camino also.  As soon as I get my second set of rims refurb'd, the BF Goodrich Radial T/As will be going on them.  Night and day difference between the bias ply's.

I run T/A's on my Chally and I really like them. Not that I have a lot of thread after this weekend.

I believe most folks aren't to concerned with weather handling. Let's face it, 90 percent of the people that have a rare or valuable car aren't going to take it out in bad weather anyway, so they tend to buy tires that make their vehicle look good... and the BFGoodrich T/A has a real nice classic look. Probably why it has been so popular over the years.

I have TA's on my 68, just put Firestone Indy 500s on my 73 and for the money, I would buy another set.

I've had the same set of T/As on my Charger since 1992. Foul weather performance has been marginal. But, I suspect, the foul weather performance may be more related to the width (255 and 275) than to the design of the tire. I had 225/70 T/As on a Cherokee at one time and they worked out fine. The wider the tire, the more it's going to want to hydroplane or not bite down to the pavement in snow.

Charger-Bodie

i think radial t/a s are the best looking modern tire available for muscle cars today.....but if you could still get good year eagle s/t s then it would be a differant story cause i really liked those.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Ghoste

I agree.  I had Eagle ST's on the car before and there are TA's on it now.  I bought the BFG's mostly because they have a nice squared off look but the Eagle's hooked up way better.

For the money you cant go wrong!

my73charger

They are a good buy for the money.  I just bought a new set for the front of my Charger and rears are next.

Most people run T/A's because everyone else has them that's all. Not a bad tire but not great either.
Lots of people talkin' , few of them know

I know it's an old post now, but here's my  :Twocents: anyway.... I ahd them on my '69 Charger R/T with 440/auto. I liked them. As long as I didn't stomp it, power brake it, or other "fun" things to do in these cars, they did pretty good in "nice" weather. But if, say, the roads were a little "wet" well then.....>  :naughty: Get the point?

What would you suggest for a "great" tire?

moparguy01

you cant get a 295 50 15 radial ta anymore. they say they are on open ended backorder, which the guy told me they do not have a production run planned anymore for that size.
