I'm wondering what paint code is this cars color?
Does anyone have a 68 painted that color, pics?

Is that a original 68 color?
1969 Dodge Charger 500 440/727
1970 Challenger convertible 340/727
1970 Plymouth Duster FM3
1974 Dodge Dart /6/904
1983 Plymouth Scamp GT 2.2 Auto
1950 Dodge Pilot house pick up

Looks like two different colors to me. The first one looks like TT-1 which is the Medium Green Poly and the second looks like the GG-1 or Racing Green Poly. Actually, the racing green is quite dark and is often mistaken for black out of direct sunlight. That second one might not be original or maybe an inaccurate mix of the original. Sometimes it's hard to tell on computer screens. There was only one other green called FF-1 or Light Green Poly. The fender tag and build sheet will tell you what it's supposed to be.

and this one...

We were told it was the original green from several people.

Not sure of the color, maybe racing green.

Not a Hemi, a mini-hemi 340.

triple_green

the top two look like 66-1 (F8 in 69 and on)

The lighter green looks like FF-1 (F3 in 69 and on)

The problem is when done in base/clear instead of the enamel, the GG-1 dark racing green, looks more like the enamel 66-1.

In enamel the GG-1 almost looks like black with a little drab olvie thrown in.

The 66-1 looks mighter brighter in base/clear than enamel.

don't forget,..  that ad from the top came out three decades ago and color registration both from the factory ads and the variance in color reg in the print ad might be way outta whack now... ad to that the computer changes the light and color tone too,..
6 pack knows abit about this and could probably elaborate further,..
BTW:  isn't there another thread currently going about these medium to dark greens?..   :shruggy:

Where are you getting the 66-1 code, Mark? Is that off a late '68 chart? If so that brings up another issue and that is what's the car's build date? There's no 66-1 on my Form 6802, 1968 chart. I disagree with you on that top pic. That definitely looks like the TT-1 greens I've seen.

triple_green

The spring introduction green is 66-1. I own a copy of that first ad and if you could see the text it is a late model year ad.

The more I look at the second picture I think it is GG-1 done in base/clear.

The 66-1 (dark green poly) is in the bottom right of the autocolorlibrary.com chart:

Here's a '68 with the original TT-1. It might be faded somewhat but by the looks of it I'd say it's been well-kept: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-Charger-All-original-unrestored-1968-dodge-charger-318_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6199QQihZ006QQitemZ160131300208QQrdZ1
