This album has my car in scale, the Daytona and the Superbird (Sorry, I need to take some better pics of the bird) a green 69 Charger R/T that is actually one of my favorites. The first one I ever did with Automotive paint. And a shot of my Goldberg Challenger ragtop, I GOTTA finish that one, still have the rollbar and spoilers to add!

pettyfan43

Thank you!!!!!! I really appreciate it, this is what I do to relax! how I wind down.  I'm trying to get better with the camera. And my next big project is a miniature of a very famous solid black 68 Charger TV star for his owner.  :yesnod:

I just figured out how to get nice clear shots where you can see the detail of the model. Heres a really good shot of the engine compartment of a 70 Challenger RT I did.

:scope:anyone notice the vin tag on the DAYTONA?..

There is a little indent on the dash of those kits that is where the VIN is, I figured with that tan interior, it would really stand out as looking funny, so I just dabbed a little black paint an VOILA! Now people hover to see if it really is an XX29J car!!!!!!!!!! And they all wanna know if it has matching numbers!

The kit comes as either a 440 Daytona or with most of the Hemi stuff, I went to the trouble to rob a correct 3 speed wiper motor form another kit!

Cool Car Cody! That is the same car I built the Goldberg Challenger out of!

damn good job my eyes are going and i don't have the steady hands anymore..  :brickwall:

i got a dozen mopars stashed in the garage someday i'll dig em out and take some pics...

pettyfan43

Thank you! I really appreciate that! I'm 40 now and have been building since I was 8. Whenever I get down, or need to think, it is great therapy for me. I build a little of everything, That black 69 Charger has be interested in doing a couple more Pro Touring cars. I have a few ideas. I'm also tinkering around with building a Diorama that is a garage that will hold 4-5 cars, plus I have a 78 Dodge Ramp truck and am building a Ram VTS "shop truck". Or may build an older Dodge Dually.

I love building TV and Movie cars as well!

Here are my Ramp truck and the 67 GTX Convertible from the Show "Angel"

pettyfan43

The Truck started out as a Little Red Express truck and the Convertible started out as a Hemi 4 speed hardtop and is now a 440 automatic convertible. The convertible boot is made from 2 70 Challenger boots.

the ramp truck's bed is from the Racer's wedge kit and the sides are made from sheet plastic. The frame is scratchbuilt from plastic channel and sheeting from the gas tank back.

Brock Samson

very nice chris! it is Chris isn't it?..   :popcrn:

there's a convert '69 GTX convert that has a boot BTW: i built a b-5,. ok ok,.. candy  sahpire blue/white one..  :D

pettyfan43

Yeah that's me! The 69 Boot is shaped differently than the 67 vert. That's why I had to use the Challenger boot, it is shaped very closely to the 67 style, but the one I used was too narrow, hence using two. Cut it in two different places and make a longer one!

The Ramp truck was one of the neatest projects I have built. Thinking my shop truck may be a 4X4 or Dually about the same year.

   :2thumbs:
so perhaps we should get togeather on that diarama thing,..  i've been collecting parts and pieces to build a 1/24 scale garage that would actually be a 2' x 2' box that once the hinged sides are dropped would be a mopar garage with storage space for models and a false bottom that would contain among other things,.. a power source for lights (incl. fiber optics) and a small cassette tape recorder that would play tunes...
now that i'm out of work i guess i have the time to get that project and some other stuff togeather..   :popcrn:

pettyfan43

This is one I started, It's roughly twice this size now, and I have most all the tools and all the little STUFF that goes into a garage! The biggest part of it will be plastic and scratchbuilt. The capacity with the new layout is 5-6 cars maybe, but I don't want it too crowded, I am a Route 66 buff so I have a lot of pieces and stuff from model kits including road signs and a map, in 1/25 scale! I also have a 57 Chrysler Couch. (actually two of em) and have drawn up a "googie" style neon sign for the place in AutoCAD.

Hopefully it will come out well. I'd love to see what you have together.

The #19 car here is a Die Cast, I just realized that!

Thank You Cody, I really appreciate it, There is NOTHING wrong with your models, If they suit you, and you are happy, ROCK ON!

The thing is, it is supposed to be FUN!!!!!!!!!! Make sure it stays FUN for you. DON'T build to please anybody else!

I've been building these things about twice as long as you've been alive, You do get better! The thing is to build and have fun!

It's only been in the past 8-9 years that I have been using better paints and taking a LOT more time that my cars have come a LONG way and I am my own worst critic. I can pick that gold Daytona APART!

Your stuff is a lot better than my stuff was at your age! Ya gotta remember too, I use automotive paint and it takes a month or better for me to build a model a lot of times. Some stuff goes faster, but most times, it takes a while, That Daytona was painted 3 times before I liked it! I painted it that color because I had a Charer R/T that color and wanted something different on the Daytona, So far, that is the ONLY model I have ever seen done that color!

Very cool stuff, pettyfan.  Top notch!  You do excellent work.

Here's some of my latest stuff.  No Chargers though :-\.  And not my best camera work...

Those are VERY nice! I LOVE Tamiya kits, I have a couple. The only GT Prototype car like that I have is the Paul Newman History Channel Porsche from Revell. NIce kit and sooner or later, I'll get around to it.   :icon_smile_big:
