washing soda rust removal

i was watching them yahoos on spike tv the other day , and they were doing rust removal with a solution of arm and hammer washing soda, water and a battery charger.......

does this really work???

it does work, i messed around with a battery charger a plastic pail and some rusty tools lol, here some good reading.

You can also use vinegar to remove rust.  Just put 70 percent vinegar 30 percent water in a bowl and soak your part for 2 weeks
