well you all told me that having my kick down stuck in one place would ruin my tranny, it finally happened haha. second gear doesnt exist and in 3rd if i give it more then 1/4 throttle the engine just revs and i slow down, but 1st seems to be working ok :) haha time for a rebuild with that manual valve body...

Ghoste

That'll learn ya.
Too bad about your trans.

yep, it goes after a while that way, I had mine running in that configuration (dragstrip config) on the street for 3 years before it finally gave up the ghost, same problem.

Just make sure you take it to a shop that has a lot of experience with a 727....if you don't, then you will be repeating my other problems...they take 10x longer to do it, and the tranny blew up again after 5,000 miles.

About to take it to the shop, should i pay the extra to get the 727 instead of rebuilding my 904? would it effect the value of my car at all? it is for sale now  :'( and i am getting a manual valve body.

aifilaw

If I was in your situation, from my experience....and what I will definitely do when this 727 explodes, if not before...

Spend the money converting it to a manual.

yeah its getting a fully manual valve body, i cant wait to feel how hard it shifts haha

aifilaw

Actually I was referring to a manual transmission... aka an 833+OD

Manual valve bodies are fun, but get real old in daily drivers

oh i couldnt afford that, but i do regret getting an automatic car. I learned to drive with a manual transmission and miss it big time.

I'm not sure about costs these days...but the last time I thought about it,
$600 to have chryco build me a bulletproof one from his stockpile of core's
$700 for all the manual hardware and parts
$200 for parts, like sheet metal bended properly
Already have a welder

~1,500

beats the $3,000 I spend on having the 727 professionally rebuilt to a race transmission spec that was supposed to be able to handle twice the torque I was throwing at it...which grenaded in under 10k miles...
