I'm trying to find out what these are worth for a very dear friend of mine. The wrench set was used . It's gold plated. They are both master tech tools from the early 60's. The torque wrench is brand new. It still has the book with it. The book is dated 1964.

There are people that collect them. Easy to put them on Ebay.

I would think someone on here might want them, or try cc.com. I had a set of ratchet/sockets that were gold plated awarded to Chrysler Techs. I bought them at a local auction for 15 bucks. I sold them on ebay for 70 bucks. It was just a small set in a plastic case circa 1980. What you have looks older and is probably worht a bit more to the right person.

My gut feeling is in the neighborhood of $50 to $100 each depending on the weather.   That may even be high.  At $100 each you could carry them around for a long time.    Service department stuff is not super rare, but certainly is collectible.   As a memorabilia collector, those two do not get my blood boiling, but would be nice to fill in a collection.

I'd say the only thing that makes them worth anything is the gold. Tell me, why did the guy use them as everyday tools if they're gold-plated? Seems like they were built to be collectibles and he used them on his Chevy. Very odd.

He was a tech for Chrysler. I don't know why he used the wrenches. :shruggy: But he never used the torque wrench. It's brand new.
