Hood pin placement

Alright, so I've decided to pin my hood.

I know the factory location for the pins is on the radiator core support, which puts them pretty far back and looks a bit goofy to me (and apparently others). My question is, can I move them further forward (mounting the pins on the grill frame), and still be okay? I dont' want to put the pins there if it is structurally too weak. I saw it done on this Charger on Ebay and the placement looks like what I want, and as one can see, the pins are mounted on the grill frame. Thoughts?

The 68 I bought years ago had the pins in roughly the same location. The grille support is a plenty strong chunk of sheet, no reason it won't work for you.
