I had posted a while ago about the bad accident our friend Steve was involved in with his 71 Charger that nearly tore the entire front end off.  Well, the story just keep getting worse.  A recap:  Fire under the hood that required replacement of all wiring, hood damage, etc. Then the nasty accident that about totaled the car.  About two weeks ago, the car was in his garage and apparently the starter shorted out.  The car was in first gear with the emergency brake on.  The starter cranked up all on it's own with no one around and caused the car to run through his dining room wall!!!!!  No damage to the car but apparently didn't do the wall any good.  Then, this weekend at the Moparfest Car show, as he was backing up, the right rear of the car hit a concrete lamppost mounting and damaged the bumper and the left rear quarter.  Steve said he is about ready to sell the car due to all of the above incidents, so any of you that are looking for a really nice (but apparently jinxed) 71 Charger-------.  Oh, one other think.  He tells me that no matter what he does, he has not been able to post on this site even thought he has signed up and has a password.  He thinks it is the car's fault.

How much does he want for it?  I could probably use a little excitement in my life. ;D

Maybe he should make some sort of offering to appease it. The spirit within seems to be craving respect...heck I don't really know but it sounds like I do...

Tell him to burn a corvette in the yard as a sacrifice! That should take care of it!  ;)

I've named my Dakota pickup Christine, not because she's out to get me but because she always finds a way to repair herself. The latest thing that she repaired on her own is the radio. It had stopped working for more than two months and I was just getting ready to buy an aftermarket unit when it started working again. And that's not the only "repair" she's made on her own...

I was at a car show a couple weekends ago and a church put it on and they did a blessing of all the cars

If the car ever learns that "sheetmetal-damage-just-pops-back-out" trick, then I'm interested.

Okay bull...we hate cliffhangers...

Well, don't get me wrong, I have had to made some repairs but here are a few things that have fixed themselves. Other than the radio the dash lights were out or partially out over a span of about a month. I tried to fix them one night and ran out of time and gave up but the next day they worked perfect and haven't quit since. That was about two years ago. The tachometer was bouncing around, stuck at 2k or not working at all for about a week. Started her up again after that and it has worked fine ever since. That was about a year ago. Some other things like check engine lights that came on briefly and never came back. Nothing like bent body panels fixing themselves or anything ;D but it's been enough to be noticed when they quit and then and save me lots of work and money when returned.

It never hurts to just sit in the garage and talk nicely to the car once in a while.  It seems to help around here anyway.

Maybe it doesn't want to be talked nicely to.  Have you tried talking dirty?  I know some girls who prefer that :smilielol:
