I know, it's hard to believe you actually read the name of this post correctly.  But as most of you know, it's a long process getting your car ready to hit the track and/or dyno.  So here are my benchmark numbers... then we'll see where we can go from here.  By the way, this is a Mustang Chassis Dyno, and there will be more info as well as video footage to come.  But for now here are the first round of numbers...

688 ft/lbs. Torque @ 1350 RPM (drops from there and settles around 490 by 3500)
404 HP @ 4402 RPM

My tach told me 5000 RPM, so next time I'll pull it up through 5500 (my tach), so I can get the rest of the curve, but it looks like it would hit 430-440 at 5000 RPM.

The tuner (who races professionally and was extremely knowledgeable) wants to adjust the A/F mixture and the timing.  But, alas, that will be the NEXT appointment.  I was just glad nothing broke!!   ;)  So there you have it... the answer to the AGE OLD question of "I wonder what that car would do?".

Also, I got it onto the scale and she came in at 3780 lbs without me and my 160 lbs.  Somebody please punch those numbers into a program and give me an estimated 1/4 ET.

Here's the video link... enjoy!!

Here's the graph... look at it closely because the torque numbers are on the left axis, and the HP numbers on the right -- the curves do not meet, even though this graph makes it appear as though they do.

Been busy like a bee.  Daughter just graduated from high school, work, church, etc etc etc.  Thanks for asking!  Good to be back.

that is a WICKED torque number...       your tuner should be able to run a simulated 1/4 mile on his mustang dyno...     the numbers are ideal however you will get a true idea of what your car is capable of...        We had a 64 Polara on the dyno and it made 431hp and 488tq...     simpluted 1/4 mile came out to 11.09 @ 117.5mph...        so i think your tq number is highly impressive.

Awesome numbers man! I've always loved your car.  :icon_smile_cool:

Where did you get this program?  Is it on the web?  I'd like to monkey around with it.

Here's a random question, about how much horsepower is lost between the flywheel and the rear wheels for most mopars with a 727 tranny?

from my understanding the torque convertor can play a large part with loss...     figure 25% to 30% loss
