water engine ducts cleaning

about 4 months ago I removed radiator and cleaned up. I'm noticing is getting really dirty again. I'm using water instead refrigerant, so that is mostly sure the cause. I have known about clean the engine inside with muriatic acid and let run the engine some time...

what it will be the procedure ? how much muriatic acid ? hoses are new... will they get damage ?

muriatic + plants = toxic gas/destruction.
It's been too long for me to say what it will do to rubber/silicone.

If that is the preferred method though (I really don't know, I always have a machine shop hot-tank it for me) go for it, may have to replace things after....

But to solve the original problem, I tried to run mostly water in a couple drag cars to keep them cooler. However I would suggest mixing in so about 10-20% of the mix is antifreeze, it has the property of a higher boiling point, and it has additives which will inhibit rust and corrosion et cetera buildup.
