440 stroker build

i m thinking of building a 440 stroker(with a mechanic friends help) rather than buy one built,is the stroker kit from 440 source any good?if not what would be an alternative??
are stroker engines stronger than stock?
hoping for around 500 hp.

as far as stroker kits go, 440 source is probably the best. I am firing up my 451 tomorrow mopar gods willing. from what they say, as far as my kit went, it is simply bolt it in and go. no mods needed. for the price and what you get around 1600.00 out the door balanced where can you get that elsewhere? you really can't. call Brandon there and talk over your options as far as what you want to achieve. he will tell you what you will gain from the different kits available. also many many many threads in the performance section on many of the builds. good luck and BTW 500 horse on a stroked 440 is definitely do-able plus the gobs of torque you get is unbelievable with the right combo of parts
