i have a 68 charger it had a 318 but somewhere down the line a 440 was put in now that i have it i can get it to start up but it wont idle on its own  i have to give it full throttle to keep it running and when its at full throttle it isn't revving high at all its basically just idling then what can cause this  also if anyone can answer this to I'm not sure what the 440 came out of or what year it is is there any 440's that are better then other 440's or better to use to build up

Well I would guess the engine isn't getting enough fuel. Make sure the throttle cable is adjusted right. Then make sure enough gas is getting to the carb. If it's not that then make sure the carb itself is delivering fuel. Could be bad jets or bad floats.
