Came across this ad in the newest Hemmings Muscle Machines

Looks like American Racing is getting in the aluminum magnum game. I'm betting they'll be a bunch cheaper than the over-priced Billet Magnums from Wheel Vintiques, as well as have the correct offset/dish compared to the Mustang Mach 1 wheels

Can't find any additional information on the web via a Google search. No mention on the American Racing website.

Would have been nice to have had this option last year when I was selecting new rolling stock.  :'(

Does this mean there's a wheel sale coming up in your future?

Neal_J

I saw the same ad last night in Hot Rod.  Looks great!

Don't think so. Heck, I haven't even updated my sig pic with the current wheels yet!

That wheel has always been my favorite on the `60's and `70's cars! Next would have to be the recall wheel of `69.

I sent an email inquiry to American Racing inquiring about sizes and retail pricing.

I'll forward any response I might get.

I inquired about sizes, pricing and availability. Here's the response I got from American Racing:

Sounds like they jumped the gun a bit with the magazine ads. :eyes:

DAMNIT!   as soon as i figured out my wheel and tire combo I get this stuff...    the only reason i didnt go with the mag 500's was they were expensive in 18"   :icon_smile_big:

Damn.  I WANT SOME!

I HATE chrome wheels.   I'd rather have polished aluminum any-day.  (Just me).

All the Chargers that I've picked-up have chrome wheels that have rusted/flaked chrome finish on wheels.  Yes, Polished gets dingy looking, but I don't mind breaking out the steel wool........

Hey 471, Can you type-out what it says in that paragraph on the ad???

Sorry, had to turn the resolution way down to reduce the file size...

Lord Warlock

subscribing, i priced a set of 17 inch wheel vintiques a few years back...until i found the price of a set of 4 came out over 2k total.  Need something reasonably priced, and love the magnum500 style even more than most aftermarket wheels.  Although i wouldn't mind a set of centerlines, my own 15 inch x 6.50 ET aluminum dish mags that have been on the car since i got it just aren't wide enough to fill the rear wheelwells.

post up when you get more information.
69 RT/SE Y3 cream yellow w/tan vinyl top and black r/t stripe. non matching 440/375, 3:23, Column shift auto w/buddy seat, tan interior, am/fm w/fr to back fade, Now wears 17" magnum 500 rims and Nitto tires. Fresh repaint, new interior, new wheels and tires.

American Racing has added these wheels to their website:

Who's going to step up to the plate and be the first to try them on your Mopar!?!?

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Zentelis

I'll get 'em if they're less expensive than the Wheel Vintiques magnums.
I like Wheel Vintique's lip design a little more, but money's money =)

Photoshopped. 17" approximate.

In response to an inquiry about pricing, American Racing responded that pricing is available and that I should contact a dealer.

If anyone should happen to get a quote, please post it. I'm not in the market, but I'm curious to know what the 15's as well as 17's and 18's will be going for...

I checked on prices of these wheels and they are the exact same price as American Racing Torq Thrust II's. Personally I would rather buy Torq Thrust.

Chatt69chgr

Better hurry.  Dealer here in Chatt says that the Torque Thrust 11's are going up $40 per wheel.

Dan T

Anyone out there try out a set of these?
I still think they are awesome :drool5:
