I put a '69 fender on eBay, and buyer is a member here.  He lives in Canada, and shipping would be BAD.  I am not going to any car shows this season either.  Can anyone going to Carlisle or Mopar Nats (w/ a pick-up) take it on w/ them?

Dan T is the member who bought it:

I'll be at both but not sure yet if I'm taking the truck to Carlisle.

Troy is in Ohio... I'm not sure what he had in mind...  Maybe I guess he is thinking I could GPX (Greyhound) it to him?  Then he could take it to the show?  That may work good.

All I know is that Freight to Canada would cost a TON.  Heck freight state to state here is outragous (300ish).  The only way I've ever got-around Freight charges is GPX...

Dan T

It's ok then. WEll just work it out. It's probably best if you GPX it to Niagara. I'll take it from there..

i shipped a 69 charger fender a couple months ago to a guy in canada(cant remember what part though) form pittsburgh, pa. and it cost me like $56.00       it was thru the U.S. postal service. you should check them... :o

a 69 charger fender through the post office for $56?? come on! that is nuts. they won't even take a package if it measures over 108" L+W+H.. which a fender is 70 length minimum in a box.. seriously how did you manage to get them to ship it so cheap?
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

Hell I tried to ship some door panels and they said it was going to cost like $75 unless I made the package like 3 inches smaller.  I made it fit under that 3 inches and it was more like $30.  Im fed up with USPS.

i agree with you about USPS. it seem likes  sometimes they charge outrageous prces for something  and other times i get lucky like with that fender. i got prices everywhere from other places and just happened to stop at our local post office and thats what they charged! i wasnt going to complain . i guess you just have to get lucky or something... :yesnod:

Several years ago, I bought a fender for my Olds off ebay and the seller shipped it by Greyhound bus.  As I recall, it was reasonably cheap and, because he wrapped in a couple of layers of cardboard and taped the hell out of it, it arrived in great shape.  Not that it was necessarily a treat to visit the Oakland bus station, but I got the fender I needed.  Anyway, perhaps you can check Greyhound's rate.

Best,

Neal

GPX was the ONLY way I have found to avoid costly Freight charges!  They wanted some CRAZY amounts like $300.00 plus.
