Has anyone here came across one on the street. How fast are they. I pulled up next to one last night at a stoplight but he/she didn't make a sound. I heard from my LS1 Z28 friend that they are all fluff. Surely would've whipped my ass though.

Not sure, but I always assumed it wasnt much more than an appearance package.

They make build three different versions of the new Roush mustang. It all depends on which set up car had. Can have up to 540 H.P. or standard 325 H.P. w/basic ground effects kits pretty much. I worked for Foord here and we drove all brands of build, very impressive, the big H.P. car. The new GT 500 KR will be even better, for a Ford. I am still have connections at Ford myself for *non sales rep* test drives.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

wrong, depending on which stage it is...It will smoke most of the Chargers on this site and LS1's
Info on stage 3 is here, it's very nice car with great handling characteristics.

Of course 2 door cars don't sell according to DCX, that's why these puppies are usually gone from the lots minute they arrive.

You wouldn't hear that supercharger until it'll be few car lengths ahead of you in just a matter of seconds.

I agree with Silver on this one. My boss has a red one that will kill, eat, and spit out almost any of the old muscle cars around me. I would buy one if I could afford one :yesnod:

Exactly, If youre looking for anything that's fast, handles great, looks awesome its the way to go. Only better thing that US market offers would be Z07, but you'll be spending quite a lot more money on one. You can put that money into Roush instead and still have faster ride.

Roush's are not your daily driver V6 mom's stang. 2007 offers 3 stages and 427R. Here's vid on one of them.

They are mosly fluff.  At least most that you will run up against are.  sure, the 427 version is stout, but how many of them are running around.  I like th new mustang, but you have to do so much work to it to get it to go fast.  Most Ls1 vettes (current ones) will compete for about the same price.

I'm not sure that I'd even call the standard version mostly fluff.  It may not be the terror that the Stage 3 ones are but even stock, they run decently.

425 h/p stock supercharged Hmmm

I worked for Ford (Canadian SVT dealer) and now Roush dealer in Edmonton,Alberta. While waiting for some real Roushs' to show up our Dealer Principle agreed to build some clones for customers.I was the tech installing the Roush superchargers.Let me say that they are very quick !!! Those were fun roadtests. :yesnod:

Beats the hell out of anything Chrysler offers...  except the Viper, but who can afford one of those?  Do they even still make them?   :shruggy:

Rallyecharger

Hopefully Chrysler will apply some "old school" options on the new Challenger and pump some extra HP to get the old horsepower wars happening again!! :2thumbs:
The Vipers are nice but out of reach for some.......maybe the Challenger can be kept at an affordable price.Unlike the Shelby Mustangs in which I have seen selling dealers asking near double of M.S.R.P !!!! :rotz: :brickwall:   Ford could have sold many more if they capped the dealers on the selling price but this is another topic all together.

Ghoste

Yes, they still make the Viper.   I expect that if the Challenger comes out in limited numbers and only as a high performance version (SRT), then it will be not so affordable and will likely get some dealer upcharges as well.  I guess it's just wait and see now.

sixpack70

I saw a 427R in the parking lot at work today. Pretty dang nice. I'll stick with my 03 cobra though because of the price. Its pretty steep. I might be down a few HP compared to one, but I can make up for it with a pulley, chip and CAI.

I was disappointed with the one we were loaned from Roush.  By the way, when I saw the "427R," I assumed it was a 427cid--it isn't; it just means 427hp, apparently??  Not too shabby, but I really was hoping to see a big block under the hood.

Anyway, it's full of Roush badges everywhere you look, and our Shelby 500 will smoke it all day long, no problem, even while boiling the tires all through 1st & 2nd gear!  The shifter is nice; short, quick throws, but un-refined.  Otherwise, it seems to be a lot of show...

If you really want a fun Mustang (I'll wait for the Challenger, mind you), go for the Shelby 500...  It will keep you smiling all the way to and from traffic court...
