Ouch!!  You sure have your work cut out for you there. :o
I get it. :smilielol:

I don't remember if this has been asked before in this thread (and I'm too lazy to go back & look ;D ), but are you guys planning on making a proper fitting rear valance corner piece? The current ones available seem to need a bunch of hacking & welding to make fit right.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Eric,

The fenders have been delayed a little bit due to problems with the initial samples that had to be fixed.  We just got the second sample in last night.  They will be test fit next Wednesday.  If they are good then we can have some for sale by the end of February/beginning of March.  Sorry for the delay.

By the way, our website should be done here in the next couple weeks.  It will have information on every part we are making.  Keep checking.

Let me know if you have any questions.

To All the loyal Charger fans. I try not to get into the discussions about availability and things like that but have to step in with a few comments. As the owner and president of Classic Body Designs Inc. I want to put my company in the position of being straight up and direst about our product and what we have. Since I bought the company I have made the rule to myself and to my company, that I would not take an dime on a part that I wasn't able to ship out right away meaning I have it in stock. The product for those of you that have purchased them can attest are made in the  United State and of are the correct contour and the exact gauge as they are meant to be. I thnk you also can attest that they were shipped to you in the highest quality packaging I could possibly purchase. The products are designed made and packaged to the highest quality on the market. They meet the standards of the vehicles they are intended to be put on. The next issue would be the price. The answer is yes a quarter panels does have a $2,495.00 retail price and it but who do you know im the business is paying retail. I have invited each and everyone to feel free to contact me either at my office or on my cell to discuss this pricing. I have a dealer program in place and more than willing to discuss this with anyone that may feel qualified. I can tell you the price between the retail and the dealer price is somewhat different . I have talked to numerous restorations specialists and they all confirm that they realize how much it cost to produce this quality of panels and each has told me how much more it would cost in labor to install and of inferior quality. I can only urge you to call me and lets chat. I do not keep up with the competitors out there but some things I have figured out myself. I own a 69 charger and like its family of chargers that came before it and the ones following they are probably some of the big guns when you talk American Muscle Cars. So i would like to keep mine an
American Muscle Car . Therefore american made is important to me. The next thing is the quality  if the contour lines are not exact then I know it is going to cost me a lot in labor for the restoration guy to make them right and in many cases a lot of bondo. The last thing I thought was imports was that I wanted my car to have the correct gauge steel on and thorughout my car.. I am using 18 gauge steel which is what it is suppose to be. I am not telling you It is close or almost like it i am saying it is it. When all this is done I am committed to shipping you the product in the best container I could have made. Knowing how important these parts are to you I want to assure you they will arrive in perfect condition.  I understand they are not for everybody but from all the research and body men and restoration specialists I have talked to I dont understand why someone would want pay extreme hours  that could end up eating away your budget. I truly believe my panels will save you a ton of money on that labor. The last thing I want to get clear is that I wont tell you I have it unless I have them parckaged and ready to go. I have quarter both left and right for all three of the years  68 ,69 and 70. I also have the doors skins in stock packaged and ready.  The plan is to have fenders for all thre of those years  in the early part of the years but no date is set as of yet so I cant promise. I can just tell you that we are working on it and that is my intent and hope of what is coming. I will be on here the day I have them stamped and ready and you forum guys will be the first to know.
I can't say this enough please give me a call  I would love to chat with each and everyone of you. If my company if not a good fit for you  and your car after we chat I will be the first to say so. I thank a lot of you guys for the business and the great comments and hope to do the same with a lot more of you.

Sincerely

Dude, you should really go back and read what you wrote.  With the amount of spelling mistakes and missing punctuation, that is one painful read!  :rotz:

So Ron; let me know if I read it right. Are you trying to tell us that AMD is taking people's money without shipping them a product?  You made reference to fitment and sheet metal gauge. Are you telling us that AMD's product is inferior?  :shruggy:
Finally, you mentioned that you have a 69 Charger.  I looked back through your 9 posts and found no reference to it.  We're 'loyal Charger fans'.   We'd love to see your car. In a separate post of course so we don't hijack this one as that would be rude.  :icon_smile_wink:

Hi all!
I dont think Ron was trying to badmouth any other companies, he is just trying to explain the costs and effort required to make these parts in the US, hence justify the retail price.
Another thing i reed between the lines is that he feels mistrust from us, maybe partly because of the pricetag, and partly from the "history" of these parts.
One thing we need to remember: Ron was also a victim of the Hardcore deal! He was also layed off, together with the other ones, early in July. I was there to see them late in June, when i picked up my charger in Chicago, and drove it to Reading,PA, and i sincerly think that none of the guys knew what was going to happen a couple of weeks later!!
Another fact is that he does have them in stock, and people has recieved them as they should. We should give him some credit for that!!

Ron is patriotic about where the parts are manufactured. For me personally this is not important, but for some people it is. The only thing important to me is the quality of the parts i put on my car, regardless of where they are made. If i needed my rear quarters NOW, i would have called him right away, with my creditcard in front of me, with no worries. I am not in a rush, so i am choosing to wait for the AMD quarters. If it turns out that they are not the same quality as Ron´s, i will give him that call, as stated above.
Let us give them the possibility to compete on neutral ground, and take it from there. We should be happy that somebody actually bothers to try to make a living out of making restoration parts for our cars.
If they did´nt, we would be biching about that too!!! :shruggy:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

I am surprised no one has commented on the '68 quarter panel being test fitted on a 69/70 Charger...

No difference for a test fit check.

I was thinking of doing just that, but i found it more amusing that it was a 68 1/4 the had putted on, regardless of what model the testbody was :D :D
Wonder if they will make them WITHOUT sidemarkers? I have asked Jeremy, and he was going to check on that. :drool5:

:woohoo:

I really like your expected prices on all the parts that all of us been longing for for a long time. Thousand thanks that you take the time, effort and money to make the best parts for us.
My Q: how is it going with the 68 taillight panel? Is the expected price like the 69-70 panels?

Best regards/Hansson

Hansson,

The excitement from people is the best part of my job.  I love talking to people about it.  The 68 tail light panel is approved and in production.  It should be here by the end of January if not sooner.  And yes the price is the same as the 69-70.

Take care,

I don't get it why is the quarters that much.If I had a hemi car to restore sure it would be a big buck car but if I had a 318 car by the time I bought al those parts I would have a big buck car that is worth more than the book value of it and would have to keep it for another 40 years for it to pan out.Why can't they make it at a moderate price, because if you think about there are only so many of these cars left, you would think they would sell them selves out of business after a will :Twocents:

Dave22443

Look at it this way Lee,

If your car were in an accident, your insurance company is going to pay for it and you will finally have the option of some high-quality parts, which any of us would insist on.  In addition, its better for all of us because we won't have to have a "Donor Car" that has to be killed in order to save another.  With parts like these, even our parts cars suddenly become viable projects.

To me, its a win-win all the way around.  True, many of us will not be able to afford it on a budget restoration, but to an insurance company, $2500 for an entire quarter panel doesn't even raise an eyebrow.
