I have bought a 1974 Charger SE that appears to be all original.  Can someone tell me what all needs to be checked to classify this car as having "matching numbers"?  Where are the numbers on the transmission and rear end located?

There should be a number stamped into the right (passenger) side of the transmission which matches the last 6 on the vin.  The same number should also be found on the right side of the engine.  The rearend is not numbers matching however, you can check the casting number and date code to know if it is the correct style for the car and if it is date coded to make it likely as being original.
On the drivers side of the trans you can find a part number and date code.

You can check the body numbers as well.  The same "last 6" of the VIN (sequence number) along with digits 6 & 7 (year and plant) would be stamped on the rad support (usually on the drivers side facing the radiator) and on the cowl (usually on the drivers side under the cowl to hood seal).

The other obvious ones are the fender tag and door VIN sticker. :icon_smile_big:
