Volo dont have a good reputation around here, Similar to those Lake Villa boys both from IL and both apparentl manipulate facts I have read.

Also $110k for something that is undocumented as an actual GL.

They did right by me.  You have to remember they are a consignment lot.  Sure, they puff a bit, but that's what sales people do.  When I bought my car for a good chunk of money, I flew out there, checked out the car, checked out the documentation and talked with the original owner, just as I would for any collector car.  You seem to complain because they over priced the car.  The price is based on what the owner wants to get for it.  If it's too high, negotiate it down or pass on the deal.  Nothing you wrote is unethical.  Plus they give me 10% for anyone I send over there -- that's not bad.  Kim

The car's story is what it is.

I would like to have the car.  But for $100K I would prefer one of the 17 battered-up screen prop GLs left over from the Cali filming.  Some may feel differently. 

The fact that this car is not abused like a screen car is worth something though.  Where else are you gonna get a GL built 30 years ago by the same hands as the original GA cars, and then time-capsuled?  It's not a perfect match for the GA prop cars, but it's radically closer than any other replica I've ever seen from that era.  During the TV show's original run you didn't even see replicas with corvette orange paint & tan upholstery unless Warner Bros had something to do with it.  That replica is literally more screen-accurate than the publicity GLs that Warner Bros was sending around to car shows at the time.

If I were going to spend 100k+ on a car, I don't forsee it being a General Lee.

That is the same group was trying to sell a certain Gen Lee as their own.They were selling a Lee  a few years back the pics they posted where of someone elses car the owner of which i and others know very well... Run Fast !!

And...the t.v. series cars...didnt they all have the vinyl trim moulding on them?  I know the movie cars don't.  And I question the "GENERAL LEE" script as well...werent LEE 1  LEE 2 and LEE 3 the only ones to have this particular script type?...I thought they went with the skinnier script after the first three.....correct me if I'm wrong...please

No offense to the die hards out there...    but why the hell would you want one ?     I mean aside form the show being horrible...    what's the big deal ?   I mean don't you think thousands of corners were cut on that car like every other filmed car ? I wouldn't trust it - in my eyes it is a small block 69 Charger...      with a horrible paint job...       I know some people LOVE the DOH but I am not one of them...       

Spend your $100K on something worth something...    hell - you can pick up a damn # matching Superbird for 100K

Hey, why the hell would you want a fugly Plymouth that was thrown together just to legalize some goofy looking racecar mods?  

There were corners cut all over those things.  I mean they didn't even finish the roof seams, they just threw a vinyl top over it to hide the butchery.  The factory couldn't even sell a lot of those abortions at full price when they were brand new.  Now those cars are only worth money because some people think they have collectible value . . .  






It's "all in the eye of the beholder" ya know?
