small block engine rebuild question

i had my old 340 in my 1 ton(80) redone recently but while trying to first start it up it makes a squeking noise from somewhereinside the motor. I unhooked all the belts and crap and it still does it. when i set the timing, i had the chain advanced to the triangle mark to get more low end torque.
also, the dist. gear went in wrong and was 180 off, but i moved the wires over. could that maybe be causing it?

it cranks over pretty good, except for the squeking and wont start.
