Hey guys,

Got some paint on my tire, and I was wondering what the best way to remove it would be. I don't want to use anything that will affect the rubber. Any ideas?

I've always used laquer thinner

and if its in the side tread you can CARFULLY use some spay bomb rubber bumper stripper

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

use less agressive solvents first like wax and grease remover, R1K213 is actual number that Sherwin Williams carries

Thanks.

I'll try some wax and grease remover first, then go to laquer thinner. It's on the sidewall.

Even better you dont need solvent, try some rubbing alcohol, etc. Did you add activator/hardener to the paint/primer? If not, it should come off easily and remember that paint doesn't like silicone/rubber so it doesn't stick to it very well.

Eh don't pick on me.

BTW, got the paint off. Thanks guys.

ACUDANUT

Did you add those stripes you like to the 68 Charger.

Burnouts only get paint off the tread.  To remove it from the sidewall, you have to do letter digs (you know, where you corner so hard the letters on the side of the tire dig into the pavement  :D ).

Working on it, getting close. . .

BTW, this thread was about, and the burnout was left by, my '01 Lincoln LS, not the Charger.
